Aloha, I work with children, teens, and adult women navigating trauma, developmental trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. When life feels overwhelming, we can begin to feel disconnected from ourselves, the people we love, and the life we desire. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or your child, therapy can help restore connection, deepen understanding, and support lasting healing. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions.

Aloha, I understand therapy as an open and collaborative conversation, one we can have at any point in our lives. My sessions do not emphasize a person’s diagnoses, and I never view people through the lens of pathology. I prefer to build a warm and nurturing environment that provides space for us to explore the most supportive interventions to address your specific needs. Whether you are an individual seeking therapy, or couple, polycule, or something entirely unique, my goal is to help you find the best way to discover genuine self-love and self-compassion. I am practical and analytical by nature, but I don’t have all the answers.

My clients are resilient, hardworking and passionate about their life, family, pets & career. Most have had prior frustrating experiences with therapy, and come seeking a deeper, ongoing connection. Many are clinicians, business owners, educators, creatives, public servants, caregivers, and nonprofit workers. All come from unique backgrounds and value diverse perspectives. About half of my clients are counselors & therapists, many who also treat therapists.

You think fast, feel deeply, and still feel stuck. Life isn’t just overwhelming—it’s complex. You notice everything and process on multiple levels, but may have been told you’re “too much” or overthink. Your mind isn’t the problem—it just hasn’t been guided the right way yet.
If you’re looking for a therapist who can keep up with you, challenge you when needed, and help you move forward with intention—I’d be happy to connect.

Therapy isn’t just about fixing what’s wrong, it’s about creating what’s right for you. I believe that true mental health is more than just the absence of distress; it’s the presence of well-being, purpose, and fulfillment. Too often, we focus solely on reducing symptoms, assuming that once anxiety, depression, or other struggles fade, happiness will naturally take their place. Simply feeling “okay” is not the same as feeling engaged, connected, and alive. The absence of mental illness does not automatically mean the presence of mental health.

My goal as a psychotherapist is to create space in which individuals can walk a gentle path toward healing and transformation. I have specialized in autism and Asperger's syndrome for 20 years, and my practice is currently limited to individuals who have or are suspected of having an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This can include presenting problems such as anxiety, depression, aggression, compliance issues, which often arise because of difficulties with social communication and inflexible thinking. ASD is often missed in girls and women, because they try harder to fit in, and pretend to be normal. I believe that every person has innate worth and deserves to live in peace.

You may be carrying something you haven't been able to say out loud — not to friends, not to a previous therapist, not even to yourself. It might be a pattern with substances or porn that keeps returning no matter how many times you've tried to stop. A grief that hasn't moved the way you expected. A sexual behavior or compulsion that feels shameful to name. Or simply a persistent sense of being stuck that doesn't have a clear label. You've probably tried to figure it out on your own. You're not looking for judgment. You're looking for someone who won't flinch.

Therapy can feel scary. It’s difficult not knowing what to expect and to share personal parts of your life with someone you don’t know. I recognize taking the steps to research and contact a potential therapist is perhaps not an easy one, though I believe it signifies your hope and willingness to work on and address your concerns. I work mainly with adult females and focus on anxiety, grief/loss, relationship issues, stress management, life adjustments, and workplace challenges.

I believe in people. I believe in our resilience, our power, and in our capacity for change. I love being a witness to those beautiful light bulb moments where we recognize the truth about ourselves and start living with more purpose and resolve. I love helping people find those solutions within themselves - I know they are there! As a former Substance Use Disorder Counselor, I could see how clients were desperately seeking a way to cope with deep trauma. I wanted to dive deeper. I wanted to help others get to the root of their problems.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
