Things look pretty good from the other side of the street. Most see you as “having it altogether.” After all, you’re the driven, reliable one everyone turns to. But underneath, you feel disconnected, numb and alone. Sure, you can pull it together when you need to, and the drugs and alcohol help, but you know this cycle can’t last. To top it all off, you feel guilty you can’t be everything, to everyone, all the time. You know it’s time to make a change.

All the thoughts you’ve never said out loud have been weighing you down. You put pressure on yourself to perform perfectly all the time, so much so that you think no one knows who you really are or how you really feel. Yet, you don’t know when it’s safe to let your walls down or let people in because being seen can feel scary and vulnerable. You give so much to others without giving to yourself or getting much in return. You’re willing to put your relationship with yourself first so that you can walk in the world more authentically.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling “too much” or “not enough”- stuck in survival mode, navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, or the intensity of BPD. My approach is relational, somatic, and decolonized, honoring both psychology and soul. I facilitate a process where individuals release shame, reclaim their voice, and reinhabit their bodies. With couples, I facilitate repair, trust, and deeper attunement. Together, we create space for the nervous system to soften, stories to be witnessed, and relationships to become a place of belonging.

Beginning therapy is a courageous step, and it deserves to be met with care, compassion, and respect. You might feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin, but you know something needs to shift. Even the process of finding a therapist can feel like a heavy lift, especially when you're carrying pain, anxiety, or navigating complex family dynamics. Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to go through it alone.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, body image struggles, obsessive thoughts, or the lingering impact of trauma? These experiences can feel isolating, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. In our work together, we’ll gently uncover what’s beneath the surface, giving space to long-held emotions and creating a path toward healing. My goal is to help you process unresolved trauma and reconnect with a more grounded, integrated sense of self so that you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

It is often when we feel the most overwhelmed __ when we have "tried everything we know" to feel better, to make changes, to break out of bad habits or unhelpful behavior patterns __ that we find ourselves the most open to growth and change. This is the purpose of psychotherapy. To provide us with the opportunity to open to the process of self-discovery __ to explore our thoughts, our feelings, and our behaviors and to find or regain our essential wholeness and sense of well-being.

Most people come to me seeking interpersonal growth. Something inside feels unsettled. They may be struggling in relationships, feeling stuck in their own thoughts, or realizing that life no longer feels fulfilling the way it once did. Often, they’ve tried to fix it on their own — but the patterns keep repeating. In our work together, we slow down and begin to gently explore what’s happening beneath the surface. We look at how you’re feeling, how you’re thinking, and where these patterns may have originated. Together, we identify emotional wounds, subconscious beliefs, and survival responses that may be shaping current experiences.

You may have been to therapy before, whether recently or years ago, and did the work of gaining insight and coping skills, yet something still feels stuck. Perhaps your mind stays busy, your body rarely feels at ease, or you’re constantly checking yourself for what might be wrong. You’re doing your best to function, but inside you’re tired and wanting change that reaches deeper.

Very few people know what is really going on in your life and just how stuck you feel. It has gotten to the point where you no longer recognize yourself and have no idea how you got here. Maybe you feel like everything in your life, including yourself is out of control or that getting out of bed takes all your energy before your day has even started. Maybe you are flooded with unwanted memories from the past and you have turned to drugs or alcohol to cope. You’re exhausted and know that life cannot continue like this anymore. You are looking for a change, and are searching for support. I can help!

I believe substance use to be a symptom and not the root issue, but without first addressing and treating addiction we will not be able to intervene the underlying issues. There is an array of individuals and families that I enjoy working with. Teens, young adults and their families, adults and or partners/spouses who need support around their loved ones addiction and also with parents whos children are struggling with addiction. My approach to treatment is trauma and attachment informed because I believe that most addiction is driven by trauma and a lack of a healthy relationship with ones self.

I help people find understanding and relief in their lives. I often work with clients experiencing trauma, shame, repressed emotions, and relational conflict. I enjoy facilitating with clients with practical approaches, a non-judgmental ear, precise language, and by way of nonverbal communication. Processing trauma cannot be done only through talk therapy, so I will help you feel/experience/process deep emotions in the body, too. Having a safe place to reflect on your relationship with yourself and others can lead to more awareness, skills, and peace in your life.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in 95628?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
