Now accepting clients! If we do not author a love story with ourselves, we may never know the wounds of our own soul. In the safety net of therapy we can show up for ourselves, discover our inner world, learn why we do what we do. In the comfort of knowing ourselves, we find our true belonging. In this eventuality, in the fullness of time, we can belong in this world and show up for others without betraying ourselves. There is a wealth of love and freedom in this way of being. The process of therapy can navigate you towards your most cherished home, yourself. Our relational stories bloom from this place of abundance only.

I have been working with people for 40 years and look forward to helping clients create healthy relationships with me, themselves and with those in their lives. I enjoy working with individuals from all racial and cultural backgrounds who are motivated to make changes in their lives; to reduce painful reactions; and increase their understanding of what makes them feel happy, strong and self assured. I encourage clients to do homework assignments in between therapy sessions, in an effort to help clients take ownership of their process, and learn coping skills that will last beyond treatment.

Everything about our lives is centered in relationship; knowing how to effectively initiate and maintain supportive, enjoyable and mutually satisfying relationships will serve us throughout our lives. But this doesn't happen without many ups and downs, some of which benefit from including a supportive, objective and helpful therapist. If you are wishing to improve your thinking, your skill in dealing with stress, anxiety, depression or trauma, living in past experiences or fearing the future, I would be honored to help.

When we are burdened by negative moods, self rejection and unhelpful thoughts or perspectives, the quality of our lives is diminished. I believe healthy emotional flow is key to embracing life's joys and processing challenges. We are often taught to reject and avoid our feelings which contributes to depression and anxiety. When we learn to accept and allow our feelings in a healthy manner, we are able to process our past and present effectively. This supports good presence in our lives and empowers us to respond versus react. I feel that in order to move forward in life, the past must be dealt with and completed.

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns of trauma responses despite years of effort to feel better. You may be carrying the effects of painful experiences, dissociative processes, or insecure attachment that other modalities haven't fully healed. You might be searching for relief that reaches beyond what talk-therapy can provide. Something that can truly transform from the inside out. I believe it is profoundly important that therapists do their own inner work so that they can be fully present and attuned during sessions. I have personally experienced the transformation that is possible with the right modality.

I believe that we are already whole, and our inner wisdom emerges when we feel safe to be seen, share, and reflect. At the Center for Loving-Awareness, we work to let go of inner struggle, and we allow our innate wholeness to be held and expressed in a compassionate awareness. We learn to accept and love the parts of ourselves that have been previously disenfranchised, and through this we actualize values-congruent living and grow into ourselves in a deeper, softer, and more satisfying way.

I believe that the therapy process is a practice of paying attention to what is actually happening - it sounds simple, but this is actually a deeply profound and challenging stance to maintain towards life. The work we do in therapy involves bringing elements of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, how we relate to ourselves and to others, and how we move through the world, from the darkness of the unconscious into the light of consciousness where we can take a look at them. We do not have to struggle and toil in order to implement change in our lives.

I’m dedicated to supporting adults as they navigate mental health concerns, burnout, life changes, and balancing work, school, relationships, and cultural expectations. Life can feel overwhelming, especially when worry, self-doubt, or exhaustion take over—but you don’t have to face it alone. In our sessions, we’ll focus on both understanding and action. I offer a space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings while also learning practical tools you can use every day. Together, we’ll uncover the patterns that keep you stuck, build awareness of the present moment, and practice strategies that work best for you.

I'm glad you found yourself here & you are taking time for yourself to seek wellness. This shows a commitment to yourself and your self-care. I have about 2 decades of experience working with disenfranchised, at-risk children and families and individuals ranging in age from zero to 100+ years old. I have worked with people coping with mental illness, the geriatric population, childhood trauma, adoption, loss and families in crisis. Currently, many are struggling. If you have survived trauma especially childhood trauma, it can be exhausting just getting through the day. I often work with families who are struggling & overwhelmed.

Therapy helps you craft a healthy relationship with yourself and others, and supports meaningful life choices. My clients struggle with issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, loneliness, relationship challenges, questions around life direction, and personal identity. Often they report feeling "stuck," frustrated in their ability to change or move forward in their lives. As a therapist, I like to work collaboratively with clients to support and strengthen what is already working and to bring insight to areas that need more attention. With compassion and kindness, my aim is to help my clients gain coping skills that foster greater well-being and help manage difficult feelings.
