I work with clients who want to resolve childhood trauma, quit smoking or other undesirable habits. Also clients who have anxiety, depression, phobias or were subjected to sexual molestation and PTSD, can be helped through hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy can help to heal and change the negative programs from childhood and adult trauma too. Freud, Adler, and Jung used hypnosis. All the great founders in the field of psychology used hypnosis because it had proven its effectiveness. Hypnotherapy is unique because by going to the core problem it can quickly help you heal emotional wounds and have a new, more positive life.

Welcome! I believe in reducing emotional pain, resolving relationship struggles, and improving coping skills. I offer both long-term modalities as well as brief, solution-oriented approaches - and am confident that all therapy can be pleasurable, precise, and quickly effective. I use straight-talk, playfulness, curiosity... and I am intuitive, non-judgmental and compassionate with a strong background in both body-centered and transpersonal modalities. I am highly effective in connecting with clients who recognize their desire for personal benefit but dislike and/or mistrust therapists or traditional talk therapy. LGBTQ friendly!

We work together to develop awareness, response-ability and the making of more satisfying choices. We may focus on relationships, conflicts, effective communication, boundary handling and adequate expression. Issues such as validation, power and control, trust and intimacy, anxiety, abandonment and loss are met as needed. We shift more deeply from who we thought we had to be to the integrity of what we are. We become more capable of handling feelings & behaviors within ourselves & with others.

Thank you for your interest in working with me. I am now accepting individual clients for in person, ongoing, depth psychotherapy and couples who want to work through longstanding mental health and relational issues and renew their romantic relationship. I love working with diverse ages, sexual orientations and gender identities. My clients are adults who deeply connect with their therapist and therapy, and their goals are greater self awareness and self actualization. I enjoy working with young adults and have served many to transition from living at home to living on their own, and succeeding at work, college and beyond.

Here we are together, possibly under order to shelter-in-place. Schools are closed, kids are at home, there is panic buying and non-essential business are shut down. Many people are working from home or remotely. I myself have transitioned 100% secure video conferencing. There are concerns about our under-resourced health care system fears of economic instability and insecurity. Right now, we are living in uncertainty with little information on when "normal" will return, if ever. This type of uncertainty causes all kinds of anxiety and psychological disruption in our lives.

I help couples to change their relationship patterns so that they can feel heard, understood and loved by their partner once again. Couples usually come to me feeling intensely frustrated and stuck in reoccurring issues that, despite their best efforts, they are unable to work out. I help couples get to the heart of what is so difficult and then communicate in new ways that allow connection where there was previously only hurt, anger or distance.

Relationship is regulation dependent. Do you suffer from chronic dysregulation? Do you need support with healthy, connected relationship? I can help you find the peace that you long for. I can assist you in giving and receiving the love that gets pushed away, due to dysregulation and pain. I am adopted. I am an adoptive parent, as well as a step parent. I both live and work with intensive treatment special needs children and families. Childhood developmental complex trauma hits hard; relationships need regulated individuals to be safe and enjoyable. Learning to calm down, be mindful, and enjoy life takes practice and skill.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
