As I see it, the primary role of a counselor is to serve as a mirror to help reveal what the client hasn't yet been able to see-especially those patterns of relating to self, others, and the environment that might be causing suffering. At the same time, the counselor is there to reflect, affirm, and strengthen the client's unique gifts and talents. One of the biggest impediments to healing, growth, and creativity is shame. To help clients move through this debilitating emotion, I use a combination of mindfulness, body awareness, and other healing modalities.

I trust that challenges, and our responses to them, hold immense wisdom—AND, we can really struggle with trauma, longing, patterns, overwhelming emotions, avoidance... In the work of therapy, we’ll get curious about this stuff. Using self awareness and clinical knowledge to enact change, you’ll feel known and able to attend to your heart. I love using imagination, dreams, the body, and just talking, to understand what's at the heart of your therapy. My intention is to support healing, and that your work will enable clarity, choice, the freedom to keep growing.

Are you ready to transform your life and your relationships? To pick up the pieces and reassemble them in a more beautiful way? To explore issues related to sexuality, partnership, and family? By reclaiming the forgotten parts of the self, we move towards wholeness. It is time to make peace with the past, learn to live in the present, and gain clarity of vision for a future worth living. By turning towards our suffering in a safe environment, we can transform our wounds into a source of beauty and strength. It is possible to live a life deeply connected to ourselves, our families, our loved ones, and the Earth.

Throughout our lives, we encounter a variety of natural transitions, some of which challenge our ability to cope. Death, divorce, life threatening illness, career change, marriage, becoming a parent, spiritual or existential crisis...to name a few. In an attempt to adjust, many of us experience emotional distress. I would be honored to work with you to provide support. I enjoy working with people of all ages including young children and teens. Through talk therapy, expressive arts, sand tray, and engaged play, my goal is to make each client feel prioritized, heard, cared about, valued, and nurtured throughout their process.

I'm an experienced therapist of over 25 years having spent thousands of counseling hours with individuals, couples and groups. Women's issues such as sexual abuse, miscarriage, abortion, traumatic events, marital/relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief and PTSD - are my specialty. I have counseled hundreds of couples to improve communication, intimacy/connection issues, trust; and to heal from infidelity, addictions and wounds that threaten the relationship. Issues of teens and young adults are important to address early in life: school, career, sexuality, relationships, traumas. Better to get help sooner than later!

Is your child having behavioral issues that seem more extreme than other children? Does he or she have sensory issues and/or difficulty with transitions? Do you wonder whether you are pushing them too hard, or not hard enough? Do you feel that your child's pediatrician/school or others in his or her life are minimizing your concerns for your child? I have dedicated my career to helping parents fully understand their children's developmental, intellectual, social and academic strengths and weaknesses as well as ruling in or out neurodevelopmental diagnoses, thereby enabling your child to qualify for services the may be entitled to.

Blending conventional and alternative approaches I empower children, adolescents, and adults to reach their therapeutic goals. It is my belief that all children, regardless of age or race, speak their own unique language based on their unique life experiences. This language expresses who they are and what they need in order to live a more functional and productive life. My mission is to interpret that language and offer innovative strategies that foster positive growth and maturity. It is not only a challenge to change, grow, and learn. As a member of the human race, I feel it is an obligation!

I specialize in couples therapy and supporting women. In my work with women I help create space where you can freely give yourself permission to be where you are and offer love and kindness to yourself. I will support you to step into a place of deeper authenticity and strength. Old patterns of thinking or ways of viewing the world may no longer be serving you but you can choose to hold space for what serves and say no thank you to what does not. In my couples work I am trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I also offer Brainspotting for both individuals and couples.

I am only accepting new clients for neurofeedback training at the Santa Cruz Neurofeedback Center, where I am the Clinical Director. Neurofeedback training is like going to the brain gym, where you learn how to shift your brain away from stuck and maladaptive patterns. We adapt the trainings to your specific goals. Some of the conditions that we work with are anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD. Neurofeedback is a great adjunct to therapy. Our in-house licensed talk therapist also specializes in Brainspotting and EMDR (somatic-based trauma therapy).
