I have have worked with hundreds of families over the years to provide a clear, unbiased place to transform unhappiness into satisfaction. I have effective strategies to help my clients transform their current pain into relationship satisfaction. I specialize in consulting with those who love someone who is an alcoholic or addict in ways to remain in contact without remaining a part of the chaos that accompanies an active substance use disorder. I am also very comfortable dealing with spiritual issues from a Biblical perspective.

For many life can be one of two things, either you feel like you are never enough so why try or you feel like you have to always keep pushing and keep going never able to relax. If never enough, you have tried everything to pull yourself out and people are quick to tell you how, so you put on a smile to hide it. On the other, you pride yourself on how much you accomplish but feel less than when you slow. Maybe you are struggling in a relationship and ready to learn how to not only have healthier relationship-building boundaries but also interested in learning out how to draw closer through empathetic attunement.

If you are looking at this page, you are most likely trying to get help. Finding a good match is essential to successful therapy. I connect with clients by listening and exploring without judgement. Clients have told me they appreciate my compassion, finding it easy to talk with me about difficult issues. Psychotherapy is a process of self-discovery where you learn why you do what you do, as well as how to change behaviors. Many hide their authentic self, conforming to the expectations of others. Psychotherapy can assist you in becoming reacquainted with yourself.

My first love is teens and young adults. I approach the younger audience with an easy and open manner creating a relatable and accepting atmosphere. As a result, young people gravitate to me as they sense I attune to their experience with genuine care. As a mother of three young adult women–as well as an uncanny memory of my own adolescent adventures–I understand this demographic, and the need for the confident guidance of a capable clinician to help support and empower them through this unique life stage.

I’m an EMDR certified therapist, meaning I have specific training and experience in a highly effective type of trauma recovery therapy. I’m glad you’re taking this time to focus on your healing. If you’re anything like most of us who have sought out therapy, you’re probably feeling overwhelmed and lost but willing to do just about anything to feel better. You’ve also probably tried just about everything other than therapy to feel better at this point and have come up flat. You might be coming to therapy feeling drained, frustrated, and weary. I get that and hope to offer you a soft landing space in which to heal and recover.

As your therapy team we will help you to navigate your own healing journey. Whether you have experienced trauma, are struggling with lack of purpose, feeling empty or alone, or experiencing feeling fragmented or broken. You are not alone and healing is possible!

Life brings painful experiences that can pull us away from becoming who we were intended to be. Whatever the source of your pain, there is grace, comfort, and healing for you. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to heal, and in the courage of my clients as they pursue wholeness. I am passionate about creating a safe space for my clients to explore the problems that keep them from being intimately connected with themselves and the people they love. I use a whole person approach; trying to be attentive to the synergy of body, mind, and spirit in the client's experience.

During my 30+ years of clinical practice I find myself working particularly effective with important life transition stages, i.e. adolescents, young adult, mid-life, later-life. I view issues of loss, marriage, divorce, identity, vocation and aging as doorways to a deeper and more actualized life. Out of intensive study, practice, and my own life experiences, I meet the client at their own unique crossroad. Together we engage in a journey of symptom-relief, discovery and new possibilities. I am an active and engaging therapist...learning from hundreds of private practice clients & families & additional hundreds of agency participants.

**ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS** Like many moms, you wear numerous hats in your life, and trying to manage them all successfully can be emotionally exhausting. Too often, you tell yourself that you ARE FAILING; failing at being a mom, failing at being a partner, failing at being a friend, failing at being an employee or student, etc etc...leaving you feeling helpless, hopeless, anxious, and depressed. One voice tells you that you CAN do this while the louder voice tells you that you CAN'T, so you isolate in the silence of shame and put on a brave face hoping to make it through the day. You want to feel better, but you're unsure how.

You smile and try to be helpfully nice, you are really trying and failing. Though you try your best to be there for others, it feels as if no one is really there for you or for those you love. No one is listening, no one sees you, or understands you. You are at a dead end and in dire need of tender care. Peace and quiet, love and laughter. Bonds that unite and relationships that matter. Imagine such a life? Suffering is a part of living but only to a point, not this jagged line tearing you and those you care about apart. Despair lurks in your bedroom at night and at dawn. You awaken to another doomsday, another struggle session.

Initiating therapy is a courageous and vulnerable step. For many who have experienced trauma, addiction, and relational issues in their past, this is can be an intense experience. I will work closely with you to understand your individual circumstances and needs. Together, we will build a plan that honors your journey of healing. As a therapist, I will work to provide a safe space and act as a guide as you build insight and explore new ways of living. My goal is to promote healing from within, shift pervasive beliefs that no longer serve you, and help you explore and uncover attunement to your purpose and sense of self.

How can I find a therapist in 92675?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
