Relationship issues with spouses, partners, family members, friends, and co-workers are often upsetting, creating painful feelings which affect all aspects of our lives. For many years I have worked with individuals and couples to understand, accept and resolve relationship difficulties. Often my work involves dealing with anxiety, panic, and depression when relationship conflict and fascstress become intense. Emotionally Focused Therapy helps create secure attachment relationships which are important to everyone. My goal as a psychologist is helping individuals and couples work toward building this sense of security in their lives
I bring my extensive experience as an clinical supervisor (Clinical Associate Professor, UCLA Psychology Department, 1995-2016). My Therapy approaches are integrative: psychodynamic therapy, meditation, mindfulness and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I create a personal treatment approach with each person and/or couple to meet their unique needs and goals.
As a member of an EFT film project, we developed a documentary about couples together 25+ years. Please go to livinglovethatlasts.com to view this 2020 documentary. In 2022 I co-authored "The Roller of Emotions in Couples Therapy" with Susan Thau, PhD. This book is available on Amazon in Kindle and Paperback.
