I believe that all of us, at one time or another, can benefit from support in our search to better understand ourselves and our pasts, to find greater ease and belonging in our lives and bodies, and to live in growing alignment with our integrity. I’ve seen how therapy can help us find some steady ground upon which to build a life closer to the one that we imagine. I’ve seen how when we have places where it is safe to “fall apart,” we can actually begin the careful work of coming back together.

Many of my clients are women in transition navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, identity shifts, relationship patterns, or the quiet grief of a life that no longer fits. They’re often carrying old stories, people-pleasing roles, or spiritual wounds, and want to feel like themselves again. I often work with creatives, students, caretakers or highly driven women who’ve spent years holding it together and tend to be the one others turn to. Most are longing for clarity, grounding, purpose, and a place where they don’t have to perform or mask.

I believe relationships are our mirrors for self-understanding and growth. They can be our greatest teacher, and have the power to transform our lives for the better, or for the worse. What's more: our social landscape is changing and what we need from partnership is changing, as our culture changes. When your intimate relationships become a place of pain, grief, remorse and guilt, you may need help. As a seasoned couples and individual therapist, I am here to guide you, through loving reflection and direction. Skilled in both monogamy and non-monogamy, I am here to help. I also specialize in existential and spiritual matters.

I have been working in the field of autism spectrum disorders since the late 1980’s, I have worked with the full expression of the spectrum and hold as a core belief that my job is not to make you “not autistic”, but to help you gain the insight/skills/coping techniques you seek. I see my clients as part of a system, and thus will work with parents, schools, other therapists, psychiatrists and others to ensure continuity of care. In addition to psychotherapy, I conduct diagnostic evaluations and school observations. I have provided trainings all over the world to clinicians and educators alike.

One of the bravest things you can do is ask for help. Imagine traveling on a path and not knowing where you are headed. I imagine you might feel lost, afraid, alone, and unsure of which way to go. Perhaps you have suffered from uncontrollable worry, depression, or loss. Know that you are not alone. Discovering your inherent gifts, strengths/weaknesses, and setbacks can lead to healing for now, for tomorrow, and for the rest of your life. What if you had a travel partner to help support and navigate life's road map? I want to join you on this journey of self-discovery.

If you’ve found yourself here, I want to start by acknowledging: it takes courage to reach out, especially when you're overwhelmed, stretched thin, or carrying pain that feels too heavy to hold alone. Maybe you're drowning in a major life transition, struggling to feel ‘good enough’ in your relationships, or carrying pain from your past that holds you back. Many of my clients show up for everyone but themselves. Therapy means choosing you. You’re tired of holding it all together and want to not only cope, but to truly heal; to feel more grounded, seen, supported, empowered, and in control of your own story.

My ideal client is one who is ready to do the work! Yes, if we do the work then life becomes an opportunity to love, live, and live life. One of my former clients who just happened to have been an Emmy and Tony award winner stated, "Siri has the formula." I have humbly bowed my head at the feet of several masters. Now is the time when I am being called to lovingly share what I have learned as I hopefully elevate others in the process.

Having issues with your teens? The adolescent years can be brutal, especially for teens today who feel pressured by their peers and social media. As Dr. Stephen Illardi points out, we simply weren't designed to live in such a fast-paced plugged in society. I help teens navigate thoughts and emotions that overwhelm them so that they can feel confident in their skin. The teens I work with go on to enjoy both emotional and academic success. I work with women as well. If you're going through a major life transition like divorce, career change, or postpartum challenges, I'd love to work with you!

Hi, thank you for visiting. After 25 years as a therapist, I have found that people need a combination of support, insight, and challenging interactions to help them move past obstacles they are facing. I work with individuals on the most intimate aspects of their lives, including their sexuality, relationships, and life and death issues. My style is interactive and relational, and employs uncovering family of origin dynamics, but also more practical, EMDR and Brainspotting methods to help make changes more quickly. My specialty is in all aspects of loss and grief, addictions, eating disorders, relationships, trauma and cancer.

What in the world is going on?! No one ever told us how difficult life can actually be. It seems like some days we feel fine, normal, good even, then the next we are knocked over by the feeling that we are at the precipice of world war, preparing for battle. Nothing feels “normal.” This may be the time in your life that reaching out, building safety with a therapist, and having the space to process /everything/ is the best possible next step. It is okay to need help. Therapy can be the door to understanding, emotional freedom, and self-acceptance. No one should have to do this alone. Connection is the foundation of liberation.

Are you feeling stuck? I help people who have experienced a traumamatic event, have fears around driving, flying, social situations or going to the doctor. Some clients are afraid of getting sick, some feel unsafe in the world and lack trust for people. Intense fears shock your body and change how your brain works. This can leave you feeling like you're stuck in quicksand. The good news is that you can actually repair the pathways in your brain. Human beings are resilient and EMDR is a modality that can get you back to feeling like yourself again.

As long as you can remember, you’ve felt like this version of yourself from the past. A version of yourself that feels weighed down by the scary and hurtful things you’ve been through. You’ve been fighting to keep this version of yourself from affecting your family, your relationships, your career - all of it. But it feels impossible sometimes, and it feels completely exhausting. You don’t remember the last time you felt lighter, carefree, or like the best version of yourself…and you’re craving that.

If you're reading this, one of 2 things has most likely happened: you're in the middle of a big change and it feels overwhelming or you're feeling stuck and need some help moving forward. You've made it this far. Now you might be asking yourself: how do I find the right therapist, and how will I fit therapy into my busy schedule? I get it. I love helping people push through life's scary transitions and I have appointments available evenings and Sundays.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
