As individuals, we are so unique. We all come from very distinct backgrounds and life experiences, both of which impact our decisions, choices, desires and fears. These considerations all play a role in the struggles and pain we face. Looking at these areas of our lives and trying to understand their influence can be overwhelming and scary. For this reason I strive to create a safe, warm and non-judgmental environment where, together, we can explore collaboratively. This time together will allow you the space needed to evaluate your experiences and understand how they affect you and your relationships.

Life is full of challenges. We all face hard times, stress and struggles at some point during our lives. Unfortunately, we cannot change the past, but we can change our thoughts and feelings about what has happened to us and choose how to deal with it and the effect it will have on us in the future. I specialize in working with teens, adults, families and couples dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, relationship problems and life transitions (marriage, divorce, becoming a parent, moving, becoming empty nesters, grief and loss, etc.).

An act of transformation begins with the acknowledgement that you have begun to "outgrow" your current self and present circumstances. Change and transition can be daunting. But the transformation to your best self is profound, and typically life altering. Whether the transition you are facing is a shift in relationship (divorce, loss of a friend/family member, new parenting, or "empty nest" parenting), a job/career change, college entry, or simply growing up from an adolescent to an adult, I am here to encourage and support, as you navigate your challenges.

Therapy can give you an advantage. Emotional health is part of our livelihood and well being. When we spend the time to focus on our internal truth- we better understand our trauma and the barriers that come in between us, our goals, and our relationships. These barriers come in all forms- pain, anger, depression, anxiety, fear, complacency. So we will discuss what you are experiencing currently, and what has impacted you throughout your life.

Another night of laying in bed, not being able to sleep only to think about how there really is no point in waking up to do it all over again the next day. You feel tremendous guilt & shame follow you around for no reason making it difficult for you to better your life. You avoid even going out & instead you instarcart your binge foods to your door step. Feeling stuck in your job or relationship feeling hopeless & alone. Do you remember a time where you were once happy and think about how it would be impossible to get back to that happiness? Do you look at your partner and are not able to recognize them due to the anger and rage.

Life is a lot to handle at times. This as well as depression, anxiety, transitions, loss, pain caused by trauma, societal norms that misalign with our personal values, career uncertainty, self-doubt, relationship issues, & more. Weeks, months, and even years can go by before we even realize how much it is impacting us in all areas. The beauty in these situations is an opportunity to develop the healthiest version of ourselves with support. Many people turn to therapy. It’s no secret that people do not come to therapy just to talk, but, to also turn their challenges into opportunities for insight, growth, & goals to achieve.

It's ok to feel hopeless, lost, burned out, or scared to ask for what you need. You're not alone in carrying shame, guilt, or hiding behind old masks that no longer serve you. For meaningful change to occur, you must feel safe, seen, and accepted. I am passionate about this work, and my approach is deeply grounded in empathy and validation. I offer an affirming, nonjudgmental space where you can drop the armor, open up, and finally feel like someone gets you. I see you, and I am honored to join you in this journey toward becoming your most authentic and empowered self.

On the outside, you might look like you’ve got it together—but inside, it feels like a different story. You’re tired of holding it all in, second-guessing yourself, or feeling like you’re “too much.” I help people untangle those knots and find clarity, relief, and hope. Being creative is a gift, but it can also come with blocks, pressure, and burnout. Whether you’re in the entertainment industry, a musician, or simply someone who feels stuck, I help people move through performance anxiety, creative ruts, and relationship stress so they can get back to doing what they love.

Some part of you knows life could feel bigger, truer, more like you. And yet, when you try to name what that looks like, you freeze. You’re stuck at the “what next?” stage, frustrated that you can’t just figure it out. That frustration is real, and it’s also the doorway. Here is where we can start noticing your needs and finding a first step that actually feels doable.

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
