If you are considering starting therapy you are likely feeling stuck: either in feelings of depression or anxiety; in repetitive behaviors; in unsatisfying personal relationships; or in career frustrations. You are often making decisions and acting in ways that are counterproductive to what you want. Our work together will make you recognize how your past experiences intrude on the present, preventing personal growth. Once your are aware of how your disruptive behaviors, actions and/or beliefs interfere with your goals you can make new choices that are more fulfilling.

I opened my own ABA agency because I believe meaningful progress begins with trust. Families invite us into some of the most personal parts of their lives, and that responsibility should never be taken lightly. Throughout my career, I’ve seen how transparency, consistency, and genuine collaboration can transform not only outcomes for clients, but also their confidence in the services they receive. I wanted to create an agency where trust isn’t an afterthought, it’s the foundation.

Life can feel heavy at times. You might be anxious, overwhelmed, grieving, or noticing the same patterns show up again and again. Therapy does not have to be about fixing you. It can be a place to slow down, make sense of what is happening, and feel supported while you do. I offer collaborative, thoughtful therapy for children, teens, adults, and families, always shaped around who you are and what you need. Sessions are available in English and Spanish, in person in Los Angeles and online throughout CA.

Psychotherapy is essentially a collaborative process where the feedback between the therapist and the person is without any sense of judgement or agenda.Therapy is about what works from the perspective of each person's unique personal experience. It allows for a fluid perspective to be understood and worked through. I am an active participant, providing descriptions along with mutually agreed upon insights and interpretations. I believe that the essential process within oneself and in a therapeutic setting should always contain compassion, understanding, respect and empathy. The goal is to develop a positive relationship with oneself and with others.

As a cognitive-behavioral therapist, I believe that people's emotions and behaviors are influenced by their perceptions and interpretation of events. I work collaboratively with my clients in a proactive manner in order for them to learn effective strategies that they can use for the rest of their lives. I also believe that we are influenced by the cultural context in which we grow up. All relationships are, to some extent, are contextual and intercultural. People often face new challenges as they go through transitions in their lives. I bring my life experiences and professional knowledge to therapy.

I've been a clinical psychologist for over 40 years. I have treated a broad range of clients during this time utilizing humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. My focus in therapy is with adults who struggle with a variety of personal issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem and relationships. I am quite interested in the concerns that younger adults confront as well as those that individuals face as they transition into their mid-life years including aging, retirement, sexuality, illness, and loss. I believe that I can help clients gain greater clarity as they work to resolve these issues in an atmosphere of support and warmth.

Tired of anxiety - perhaps even panic? Are relationships affected? Can you imagine how liberating it might be to manage these intense thoughts/emotions/physical sensations? These are goals, which many of my clients have achieved. Instead of avoiding people and situations, they gradually feel increasingly self-empowered, daring to say or do things they really want to and be themselves. I can help you overcome anxiety and panic.

My practice is the ideal fit for a woman in the perinatal or early-motherhood season who feels overwhelmed, overstimulated, or unlike herself. She’s juggling fertility stress, pregnancy emotions, postpartum shifts, or the mental load of raising young children. She wants to feel calmer, more grounded, and more connected to herself and her partner. Most of all, she wants to stop just “getting through the day” and feel supported, understood, and steady again. We collaborate to identify areas of “stuck-ness” to create actionable steps towards change, and process the emotions that come up along the way.

It seems like nothing you say gets through to them anymore. When the one you care most about doesn't seem to listen, it's frightening and isolating. Sometimes just talking to an objective person helps you find a way to live a better life, resolve problems, and make better decisions. Suffering originates from not knowing what to do with life’s challenges. Every person needs guidance to leave behind the confusion of the current situation to breakthrough to a future clarity. It's not too late to learn the skills that can get you off to a fresh start. It's time to break those unproductive patterns and replace them with healthier ones.

Listening for what is not said, is often as important as what is said. No one therapeutic approach suits every client's need. I tailor my approach based on what's best for the individual. My success with sober clients and others suffering from addictive disorders comes from my willingness to help them navigate the realities of life. Sometimes psychotherapy alone cannot cure mood disorders, just as drugs for depression and anxiety are less effective without concurrent psychotherapy. Worried about anonymity? I offer in-home services.

If you’ve found your way to my profile, I imagine there is some part of your life that feels less-than-ideal. Change is possible and you’ve just taken the first step. Do you experience anxiety or unwanted thoughts or have OCD? Do you find yourself worrying excessively about your safety or that of your loved ones? Is anxiety or self-doubt keeping you from getting what you want out of life, interfering with your relationships, or keeping you stuck? Are you struggling with your self-esteem, body image, or perfectionism?

The challenges of growing up in today's rapidly changing society are enormous. Children need to be equipped with skills for survival and growth that were never before imagined. I focus on teaching self-healing and self-control techniques that empower youth to develop the emotional skills necessary for a happy and successful life and realize their potential throughout their lifetime. Using the positive power of their imagination, children learn to reduce stress, deal effectively with anger and frustration, reduce stomachaches, headaches, and tics, cope with divorce and death, reduce parental and sibling conflicts, increase concentration, sleep peacefully, and more.

Welcome to my page! I am mindful of how expensive therapy can be and I offer a sliding scale. My approach as a psychodynamically/psychoanalytically trained psychologist is to create an atmosphere of safety and empathy to help you feel at ease. I will work with you to unfold and rework your deep seated beliefs. These beliefs form out of experiences throughout your life, especially in childhood, and are often maladaptive, limiting, and impede your functioning, causing noticeable symptoms. Furthermore, they may get in the way of achieving your desired goals, and negatively impact your self-esteem and ability to cope with stress.

My ideal client comes for help with their anxiety, relationship difficulties, or addiction. They want structured guidance, practical tools, and a compassionate ally who can help them navigate recovery. What makes them ideal is their readiness to participate actively in therapy, practice new skills between sessions, and gradually rebuild confidence in their ability to live without substances controlling their choices.

I am a psychodynamic therapist with fourteen years of experience specializing in attachment, trauma, and nervous system regulation. I work with career-driven women in their twenties through midlife, neurodiverse couples, and high-achieving professionals whose lives look full from the outside and feel complicated on the inside. My work begins with the understanding that the patterns disrupting your life now have roots in your earliest relationships. The anxiety that won't quiet, the relational dynamics that keep repeating, the sense of performing your way each day: these are not flaws. They are adaptations, and they can be changed.

I believe that change can happen when you least expect it, and therapy is a wonderful way to look at what is holding you back and understand yourself. I bring an empathic, caring persona to the therapeutic process and believe that the relationship developed in therapy is a powerful tool for insight and growth. I have worked with many patients to develop an increased capacity for self-reflection and to apply skills learned in therapy to creating a more fulfilled life. I see children, teens and adults in my practice.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
