I'm curious about people: how our unique histories have shaped us, how we relate to each other & what motivates our behavior in relationships. I specialize in processing relationships with couples & individuals struggling with codependency, communication, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem & identity. We often get stuck in repetitive behavioral/thinking patterns that block us from living the lives we yearn for. We may feel misunderstood or disconnected in our relationships. We may avoid intimacy because we don’t want to get hurt again. We may have a harsh inner critic & lack self-love. Do you experience this in your life?

Finding grace and serenity and balance in life is no easy task - even with the foundation of a supportive, liberating childhood; miraculously healthy personal boundaries; and true friends, colleagues, mentors, and lovers. Self-sabotage, self-doubt, seemingly mistaken paths: we're all vulnerable. We find ourselves yearning for an elusive guidebook - to rewrite our lifestory or escape from sometimes paralyzing anguish. All the more so if an overlay of fresh or longstanding trauma (heartbreak, grief, abuse, crises of health, home, or employment) overwhelms and destabilizes us or undermines our ability to trust, to forgive our missteps, even to breathe deep.

If you’re perceptive, thoughtful, and exhausted from trying to think your way out of anxiety, depression, burnout, or relationship struggles, you’re not alone. Many of my psychotherapy clients have been told they “overthink” or are “too smart for their own good.” They are gifted problem-solvers, often high-achievers in their respective fields, but feel stuck in patterns insight alone can’t shift. When thinking harder isn’t working, it may be time for a different kind of help—one that reaches the deeper roots of what’s going on. You don’t have to figure this out alone. When you’re ready, I’m here to talk.

Is something in your life is asking for your attention? Something that no longer fits, or feels like you? I believe that our struggles, though painful, can be invitations to grow, change old patterns, and reconnect with what matters most. In our work together, we’ll explore whatever is happening for you - whether it’s difficult relationships, depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, past trauma, addictive behaviors, body image, spiritual or religious wounds, or a search for meaning and self.

I am a licensed psychologist in California with a doctorate in clinical psychology from The New School in New York. My training spans outpatient clinics, inpatient units, psychiatric emergency rooms, and day programs, working with adults, adolescents, and children across a wide range of presentations.
My primary approach is psychodynamic. I pay attention to how early experiences, unconscious patterns, and relational dynamics shape what clients bring into the room. I also draw on CBT, DBT, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, depending on what will actually be most useful.

Anxiety and depression are common. There is no shame in feeling this way. In your day-to-day life, you have to balance work, money, relationships, your dreams, your health, sleep etc. It would make anyone not feel their best. Talking about the difficult things in your life with a licensed clinician who listens, empathizes, and challenges is often the thing you need to get you back on the right path or to find a new one.

I offer secure video/phone individual and couples therapy sessions. It is my belief that therapy is a two-way street. You get out of it what you put into it. If you apply yourself and your efforts are sincere, your chances of success and improvement are far greater. I view myself as a facilitator, at times, as a therapist. A conduit between you and your truths. And at times I see my role as being more assertive and providing careful guidance when need be. I also understand the need, at times, to provide my clients with more specific answers to questions that they might have regarding their mental health concerns.

Navigating modern life can feel overwhelming. Our world moves faster than our minds and bodies can keep up with. Technology shifts instantly, social pressures unfold publicly online, and our environments can feel divisive, unsafe, or judgmental. In addition, many of us are operating within systems that don’t support our basic emotional or relational needs, and our bodies register this as constant threat. It’s no wonder so many of us feel anxious, disconnected, or exhausted by the nonstop pace of everyday life. Feeling overwhelmed by all of this is not a personal failing - it’s a human response to an increasingly demanding world.

If you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or unsure of your next step, you are not alone. Many of the people I work with appear high-functioning on the outside, but internally they feel stretched, disconnected, or searching for something more.
Something deep inside you may sense that there’s more to life - more ease, clarity, and purpose - but something keeps getting in the way. Old patterns, invisible barriers, or limiting beliefs can make it hard to move forward, even when you’ve tried therapy, self-help, or mindset work.

Therapy is about exploring, experimenting, discovering, and being vulnerable. In our therapy together you will learn to increase self-compassion and mindfulness, and your ability to sit with uncertainty and bear witness to uncomfortable feelings and body sensations. You will gain awareness of the role negative core beliefs and thoughts have upon mood and learn how to challenge those negative thought patterns. You will learn to set appropriate boundaries by asserting feelings, recognizing wants and needs, and identifying the role shame and guilt might play in causing unhealthy, harmful, stale, and inauthentic behaviors.

Hi, I’m Adam. I believe every person is born with an innate capacity to grow, heal, and create a meaningful life. Sometimes, painful experiences or unsupportive environments block that natural capacity, leaving us feeling stuck or overwhelmed. When this happens, I view your symptoms not as failures but as purposeful signals that call for deeper attention.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, trained at Pepperdine University. My path to this work was informed by a significant "first act" in the global business world, navigating international licensing for entertainment and intellectual property.

I work well with clients who are struggling to be free of oppression, fear and inhibition, including those recovering from family and relationship violence, abandonment or abuse. I seek to be authentic, direct, unpretentious, and I avoid clinical language in session, in favor of understanding as accurately as I can how my clients experience life and what they want for themselves.

Life can feel overwhelming, even when things seem “fine” on the outside. You might notice yourself repeating old patterns, feeling unsure why you react the way you do, or disconnected from what matters most. I work with adults who want to feel more grounded, present, and connected to themselves. I create a warm, thoughtful space to explore underlying emotional patterns and reactions, including processing past trauma. I am trained in EMDR and integrate it when appropriate to help clients process difficult experiences, gain insight, and make meaningful, lasting change.

Life can be stressful and complicated. Juggling daily expectations and responsibilities is challenging in itself. On top of that, we all have unique stories that largely unfolded beyond our control and to which we have adapted, sometimes constructively and other times in ways that conflict with our needs. Most of us aren’t formally taught to manage these stressors, which can result in various types of emotional pain, such as anxiety, depression and trauma. My goal in therapy is to help you develop the tools needed to understand and change the areas of your life that no longer work for you in a safe and nonjudgmental environment.
