Most personal struggles and relationship issues result from problems with the relationship with the self, rooted in relational injury experienced earlier in life. I focus specifically on traumatic grief with an understanding there is no wrong way to feel, no timeline or expectations. My approach is individualized and draws upon several interventions such as the ATTEND Model, mindfulness, CBT and crisis intervention. I come from a trauma-informed perspective and believe that each person's experience is unique with their own strengths. Some of my clients have lost loved ones due to suicide, homicide, auto accidents, medical malpractice, cancer and overdoses.

This is a huge step you have taken to begin your healing process! Childhood trauma disconnects us from the truth of who we are. We believe that somehow the hurt we experienced is our fault, we are not good enough, we don’t matter, or we should have tried harder, etc. Without healing, these beliefs follow us far into adulthood. We are left repeating dysfunctional family dynamics, coping in unhealthy and harmful ways, developing addictions, eating disorders, feeling depressed or anxious, and having difficulty in relationships. It all leads back to the most important relationship- the relationship we have with ourselves.

Your relationship has changed. Anxious thoughts are starting to creep in.
