As a licensed professional counselor my goal is to help clients who are seeking guidance and understanding. Once YOU make a decision to start therapy it is important that YOU agree to commit to fully participate in YOUR journey filled with changes and challenges. I believe I can walk along side a client in his/her journey by first developing a plan that you can commit to. Whether it be in recovery, building healthy relationships, healing through events in your life. Additionally, I can help you understand family dynamics and/or to help a parent learn how to be the best advocate for their child.
I use talk therapy in a way that helps YOU learn how to come to YOUR own conclusion. This guides you to think differently in your approach, by being able to separate the problem itself from the emotion that is attached to it. Cognitive behavioral therapy approaches help support the treatment process and I use play therapy techniques for children as well.
Two of my favorite quotes from Dr. Brene Brown are: "Courage is asking for what you need" and "The middle is messy, but it's also where the magic happens."
