I'm from Puerto Rico where I became and developed as a professional counselor specializing in mental health and wellness. Then I made the difficult decision to immigrate to the USA to serve to Latinx community; especially the Spanish speakers that, like me, left their countries looking for a better life for themselves and their families. As a Latina therapist, I know how hard it is to grow up in a culture that we love and respect but have aspects that could hurt us as individuals. I know how difficult it is to overcome the social and cultural challenges and make decisions to heal and live the life that we deserve.
