Hi, my name is Teilor, and I specialize in working with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, and life’s deeper questions. From an existential therapy lens, anxiety and depression can show up when we’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure about who we are or where we’re going. I take an integrative approach that includes practical tools to help manage overwhelming emotions, while also drawing from existential therapy to explore the "why" beneath the surface.

The ideal client is someone who wants to get a different perspective, who wants to address personal challenges and recognizes that their life's work is defined by how well they manage those challenges. I am interested in working with people who want to live their best lives. Spiritual emergence is the term that best describes the process of self-discovery and self-actualization. Spirituality in this context is the realization of one's potential and the recognition that the things that get in the way are sometimes the portal to a more fulfilling life.

My ideal client is someone who knows, deep down, that something has to shift. They may not have all the answers (yet), but they’re done dancing in circles — ready to break old patterns, call themselves out (with love), and lean into real, lasting change. Whether they’re 19 or 79, single and soul-searching or in a relationship that feels more like a roommate situation than a romance, they’re craving clarity, connection, and that click — the internal shift that changes everything. They’re open-minded but want grounded tools. They’re not here for fluff — they want the truth, even if it stings a little (or a lot).

Are you looking to improve your self-esteem, considering important life decisions, or finally ready to overcome your trauma? I would consider it an honor to accompany you in discovering the truest and most whole version of yourself. While many people are struggling with depression and anxiety from an abundance of stressors, these symptoms do not need to define your life. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to improving mental health because your life is entirely unique. I am excited to build a partnership with you to identify the goals that will improve your quality of life and then pursue them.

Welcome! I am glad you are here and it takes courage to take that first step to reach out for support, especially if you might be feeling depressed, anxious, or paralyzed with fear of how to move forward. Sometimes, we may find ourselves in unexpected situations, toxic relationships or work environments, trapped in addiction, or find ourselves stuck in self-sabatoge or repeating the same unhealthy patterns. You might feel alienated, alone, or unable to open up to friends or family. Counseling can help you navigate difficult situations, help you gain clarity, and begin to heal and move forward with life again.

We each have a unique story but truly there are very few unique problems. The lie that we so often tell ourselves is that we are alone. This isolation and shame often keep us from living wholeheartedly and finding the connection with others we deeply desire. We have parts waiting to be seen, heard, and healed. In exploring those parts and seeing ourselves, we find the power to validate, challenge, and grow. My commitment in my practice is to create a safe space for you to explore your story without judgment. To walk alongside you as you create and empower the change you want to see in yourself and your relationships.

During the course of our lives we experience many joys and hardships, and along with them the full range of human emotions. Each moment and feeling is an opportunity to better understand self, other, and the world. Your painful feelings may be signals that old wounds need to be acknowledged or that your truth is not being lived fully. If you are currently struggling to cope with life challenges, feeling unfulfilled or seeking personal growth, the therapeutic relationship can provide an open and nonjudgmental atmosphere to explore the body and mind in a safe, comfortable space.

Seeking the assistance of a professional counselor is an important decision. Reaching out for help can be difficult, but once the decision has been made, most people, in my experience, find the outcome to be extremely rewarding. Stress, relationship difficulties, and career disenchantment are just a few of the normal issues that anyone may encounter over the course of one's life. Seeking an experienced and skilled counselor to help deal with any of these concerns is a demonstration of personal strength and healthy coping.

Ever feel like you can’t shake your case of feeling like you are not good enough? This persistent feeling comes from trying to be someone you’re not. Constantly striving to be perfect or to fit into everyone else’s expectations depletes you. When you come to therapy, you get to drop the pretensions. You get to be vulnerable and explore the fears and tough feelings that you worry you can’t reveal to the people you love. As you get more comfortable talking and exploring with me about your real wants and needs, you will build the skills that will enable you to show your true self to your family, friends, and colleagues.

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
