You may be someone who gives deeply to others—often forgetting to checking in with yourself. You may know something needs to change but aren’t sure how to do that without letting others down. Therapy can be a place where you learn to honor your needs without guilt and reconnect with who you are beneath the people-pleasing tendencies. I help individuals decrease feelings of resentment, disconnection, or a quiet exhaustion that’s hard to name. And build connection to self and others, identify personal needs and goals. Together, we’ll create a space to slow down, ease the overwhelm, and focus on what truly matters to you.

I find people are far more capable and resilient than they realize. My approach to therapy is collaborative, eclectic and person-centered. Whether the challenge stems from experienced trauma, anxiety, depression or conflict within your relationship, skills can be learned to navigate your life circumstance. Relationships make up the core of who we are as human beings and effort is needed to learn skills to communicate, have healthier conflict resolution or rebuild a relationship (with others and self).

Telehealth Counseling and Coaching throughout the US. While working with people, I help them work through the process of engagement, healing, and growth. My initial approach is to see the greatness of a person. I work with people to help them see their own greatness noting that their behaviors do not define them. The behavior is unhealthy, not the person. Who a person is at the core is always great, healthy, and beautiful. As we pull apart maladaptive behaviors from the individual, I help people become actively engaged in their own therapeutic process beginning a journey of healing and growth.

From the outside, things might look okay, but inside, you may be carrying more than anyone realizes. Maybe you’re moving through change, feeling disconnected, or simply tired from trying to hold it all together. You don’t have to do it alone. This is a space to exhale, a place where you can slow down, be seen, and begin to reconnect with yourself and others. Your story matters here, and healing is possible. Together, we’ll create space for clarity, compassion, and growth. If you’re ready to feel more at home within yourself, I’ll walk alongside you every step of the way.

Is your trauma, grief, or loss taking everything from you? Does your health condition seem like it is more than you can bear? Are you lost in a cloud of deep depression and can’t see a way out? Are you scared that you have come to a point in your marriage that you are considering divorce and would do anything to just heal things, be happy again, and make it all better? Or, is your child really struggling and you want to know how to help them? If you are experiencing any of these or other extremely hard feelings, you need to know you can get through this. Things can get better.

If trauma from your past still shows up in your present — in your relationships, your emotions, or your sense of self — you’re not alone. Many people find themselves struggling with communication, trust, betrayal, or feeling stuck despite their best efforts to move forward.

I love working with individuals, couples, and families. I believe that we all have challenges and adversity that we have to face in life. Unfortunately we don’t get to choose what those challenges will be, but we can choose how we will deal with them. I believe that by confronting problems head on, and working through the difficult challenges we can find purpose in life and heal. I believe that it is our challenges in life that shape who we become.

Taking the first step toward feeling better—really feeling better—takes courage. If you’re here, something in your life isn’t working the way it used to, or maybe never has. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to start. My role is to meet you where you’re at and help you make sense of what you’ve been carrying. Together, we create a space that feels safe, real, and honest—where you don’t have to pretend, perform, or be perfect. The goal isn’t perfection… it’s helping you build a life that actually feels meaningful and manageable.

I believe clients hold their own internal answers, though a therapeutic alliance is often needed to unlock them. As a trauma-informed therapist, I see how adverse childhood experiences create deep-seeded belief systems and a dysregulated nervous system. This survival mode makes life feel chaotic and unmanageable, leading to addiction and unhealthy coping mechanisms. I build trust through radical transparency and accountability, being upfront that reaching a regulated life requires immense hard work and commitment. I provide a steady, non-judgmental presence, helping clients navigate these roots to empower ever lasting change.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
