I do therapy a little different than others you may have worked with. I was trained in feminist-multicultural therapy and have a fundamental belief that we cannot fully disentangle our wellbeing as individuals from our wellbeing as a society. That means that sessions with me usually involve exploration of the personal (e.g. how your partner's mom rolled right through your carefully constructed boundaries) AND exploration of the political (e.g. how late-stage capitalism creates the exhaustion that prevents you from doing anything about your partner's mom rolling right through your carefully constructed boundaries).

Adam’s passion is simple: he loves working with people who are at the most difficult crossroads in their life. His goal is to help them figure out what direction resounds with their true self. He loves writing as a form of healing and survival, and enjoys using it as a modality with clients. An important item Adam believes people should know about mental health is that you don’t have to have a “disorder” in order to get value and growth out of mental health therapy. Just as one doesn’t just “go to a doctor when sick,” one doesn’t need to be “ill” to get mental health care. It’s also okay to not be okay.

We don't typically change until the pain and discomfort of staying the same becomes too much. I believe there is hope. I believe it is possible to make lasting change. I believe you already have what it takes. Together we can uncover the problems of your past & work to gain positive, healthy change. With a trustworthy ear, I offer a pathway we can walk together in creating a sustainable & structured path for lasting recovery. Navigating the wake of shame & uncertainty from unwanted compulsive sexual behavior & betrayal trauma is difficult. Creating safety & trust are a priority.

I often work with clients who are processing grief, loss, and transition. I think everyone has their own inner healing intelligence, even if we have trouble accessing it at times. I can help you explore your own inner wisdom body and through a collaborative approach, we will determine the tools necessary for the type of transformations you desire. In my psychedelic work, I specialize in sonic induction (drumming), which allows clients to have a psychedelic experience and connect to non-ordinary reality. This technique is especially helpful for clients who want a psychedelic experience but aren't called to take psychedelics.

I'm Becca Post, founder of Forward Healing Therapy. When you are ready to heal, my team and I are here to help you heal forward. The old model of change accepted by most medical communities is cyclical. If you feel something is wrong, seek help, feel better, and “graduate.” Then, something happens — you’re triggered, life changes, you “relapse” — and you seek help again. Therapy works…until it doesn’t. So, I created a new model of change for my group therapy practice: the Forward Model of Change.

I believe everyone has what it takes to find joy, peace, and love in their lives through vulnerability and connection. After working through my own trials, I discovered that I wanted to help others and decided to become a therapist. I found a love for listening to others and trying to understand how their stories have shaped their view of themselves and the world. I enjoy connecting with people by encouraging them to explore new ways to find happiness within themselves and their relationships.

Life is overwhelming sometimes. Often, we don't know what is wrong and we just know things aren't the way we want them. We want to enjoy the present moment fully. We want to be able to think about the past without crawling into a hole. We want to be able to think about the future without panic. We want healthy, deep connections to those we love. But when we are in the darkness, it feels impossible to find the way out! The truth is we aren't supposed to have all the answers ourselves.

“Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” -Brené Brown. Seeking help is a humbling and courageous step. I am passionate about helping those who have had traumatic experiences and want to heal. All great relationships start with individuals. All people have something unique to offer one another, but with the stressors of day-to-day life such as anxiety, sadness, trauma, and self-esteem needs, navigating relationships with our partner and ourselves can take a back seat. I am focused on helping individuals and couples enhance their relationships with themselves and others. Each individual has the capacity to be loved, understood, and valued. This comes by first loving and understanding oneself, and then connecting with and understanding our partner.
