As a therapist, I strive to help each client by working to understand each complex presenting concern, taking individualized approaches, and working collaboratively with clients at developing and implement effective treatment. I work primarily with anxiety, depression, LGBT+ concerns, trauma, and life transitions. In my practice, I use DBT, CBT, and Cognitive Processing Therapy approaches to help clients develop skills to respond to their stressors more effectively.

Our relationships with our children can push us to a place of emotion that we never knew possible. Yes, to the depths of love and devotion! But parenting can also be one of the most overwhelming things we do. And most of us don’t get the support we need to do it. I help parents enhance their relationships with their children, providing support and strategies so parents can be the people they want to be and build resilient and thriving families. I have dedicated my career to helping parents gain the tools and support they need while doing the all-important work of raising communities of resilient and thriving children.

Therapy should be approached in a nonjudgmental fashion. We come from all walks of life, and our views and values may vary. Together we can create a safe and inviting atmosphere for you to tell your story, and be heard. I work with children, adolescents, and adults from varying backgrounds with different presenting needs. I can assist you in self-exploration at your desired level: to help you understand past and present experiences impacting your current life; to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself; to feel healthier and more satisfied by maximizing your individual potential and better understanding limiting beliefs.

I work with individuals who are thoughtful, sensitive and often appear 'high functioning' but struggle with feeling overwhelmed, dissatisfied or stuck internally. I specialize in interventions that address anxiety, insomnia, and perfectionism. I also help people process the lingering impacts of earlier life experiences or family dysfunction and coping with life transitions. My work with clients aims to help individuals cultivate an inner steadiness- an anchor through the natural ups and downs of life.

Sometimes we cope by enduring our circumstances, not realizing the deeper patterns that shape how we see the world, ourselves and others. Therapy can be a space to start to understand those patterns, shedding light on the unconscious ways we manage pain, anxiety, and past wounds. While some of our ways of being may have been helpful at times, they can also keep us stuck, limiting our ability to fully connect with ourselves and others. I am hopeful that we can develop a therapeutic relationship and explore the emotional and relational patterns that may be influencing your current experiences. I look forward to hearing from you. :)

Calling the truth-seekers, the plant medicine-sitters, "the lovers, the dreamers, and me", this is an invitation to work with someone who *gets it* and is committed to being part of the modern paradigm shift. I don't want to diagnose you, but instead help you find the gift in all the ways you are uniquely YOU. Working for 15+ years in addiction & recovery makes me somewhat of an expert in those realms, but I am much more interested in revealing how YOU are the expert of your experience. Together we will find the path back to your own loving heart thru Inner Child Work and Psychedelic Harm Reduction & Integration. REMEMBER with me

I am consistently amazed by the resilience of the human spirit, and Like Viktor Frankl, believe that “the most human of all human capabilities is the capability to turn a tragedy into a personal triumph, to transform suffering into a human achievement” (Frankl, 1963). Life’s challenges are not meant to break us but to propel us toward growth and personal fulfillment. In my practice, I am dedicated to guiding individuals through their struggles, helping them uncover their inner strength and resilience.

Life is a challenging adventure. I work best with people who are curious about getting unstuck and pursuing their goals. Whether it is stagnation in your career, challenges in your relationship, or anxiety about the many "what ifs" we face each day, asking questions and exploring possibilities provides a way forward. Learning more useful strategies to cope and engage with challenges will be a cornerstone of our work together.

Grief and bereavement are something we will all face - death and endings are a natural part of life. But in our mourning avoidant culture, we don't generally have to skills and support to walk a healthy grief journey. If you are struggling with the death of someone you love, a pet, or a life transition, and need to know if what you are feeling is normal, I am here for you. Traumatic events aren't generally something we have control over, but we do have the ability to heal and grow. If you aren't sure how to move forward, I can help you with specific tools - so that it doesn't have to continue to define you in negative ways.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
