People say my style is different from other counselors. "He's not the kind of counselor who just sits back and says uh-huh every few minutes." I am not shy about giving feedback and responding to my clients. Counseling is a relationship and I strive to create an engaging and healing dialogue from the beginning. Whatever your issue is, if it's not getting better with what you have been doing so far, now is the time to seek assistance. Call me to discuss your concerns and we can decide if I am the right resource for you.

Life can be difficult... Stress from work, relationships, and other life experiences may leave a person feeling alone or lacking support. This stress often has adverse and unwanted effects on overall well-being and is important to address. The counseling relationship provides an opportunity to be supported in a safe environment with a counselor who is open, responsive, and accepting of you and your lived experiences. Counseling can be seen as a relational tool in working towards the life you've been wanting for yourself, whether it looks like managing mental health symptoms or realizing your goals.

Traumatic experiences lead to trauma. That trauma deep inside of our bodies which ends up effecting most areas of our lives. The clients I have worked with, do hard work, the hardest and bravest work I have had the honor of being a part of. My client's need safety and as Gabor Mate states the "two basic human needs Authenticity and Attachment". My client's learn who they are, and what each of the identities they hold mean to them. They take power back and action through intensive trauma therapy which does not always require them to speak their traumatic experiences. My client's learn to believe in the good things coming.

*Currently not accepting new clients* She/Her/Hers. I offer an ever-evolving counseling environment that is tailored to fit your individual needs, and one that promotes safety and empathy in order to assist you in your healing process. Our path towards mental wellness and personal clarity can often be winding and confusing; having a therapeutic partner during your journey can often make this process more manageable. My clients have told me that their experience in therapy has been supportive and affirming, yet also challenging enough to help them grow and bring out their best, most authentic self.

I work with adolescents and adults who may be coping with a variety of challenges including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, sexual orientation, gender identity, emptiness, substance use, and relationship issues. I work with individuals who are struggling with their sense of self and may feel lost, alone, and unsure where to begin. I help teens, preteens and young adults learn how to cope with life stressors so that they can be happier in their personal and family lives. Most teens and young adults struggle with becoming overwhelmed and not sure how to deal with all the emotions that come up for them. So much is changing so quickly, and it can be difficult to feel like you are keeping up with the constant transitions.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
