I work with adolescents and adults with autism, ADHD, acquired disability, anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar I and II disorders, and borderline personality disorder. In addition, I do family therapy for teens and their parents with the goal of overcoming obstacles to communication and creating mutual respect and understanding. My practice favors an approach which allows clients to assist in creating their treatment plan and where they can provide feedback to their provider without fear. In addition, I work to create a space where sensory needs are considered and met.

You may feel stuck, conflicted, or weighed down by anxiety, depression, or unresolved trauma. Maybe you notice patterns in your relationships or behaviors that no longer serve you, or perhaps you carry a sense that you're not quite “enough.” You want meaningful change—relief from emotional discomfort, a greater sense of clarity and well-being, and the ability to connect more deeply with yourself and others. You want to feel like your life reflects who you really are and what you value most.

You're a high achiever. You're managing your life, and on the surface you look like you have it all together. But underneath, you feel like you're hanging on by a thread. Something is missing. You want to feel comfortable in your own skin, but those moments are becoming more and more fleeting.

We got this! Together, we can explore the obstacles you are facing and turn them into opportunities for a happier life and healthier relationships. Sometimes life is just plain difficult, and it seems like no matter which way you turn, you are blocked. It’s frustrating and scary and there seems to be no way out of the box we are in. But it is the choices we make during those very times that open, or create, the windows and doors we need. It is about taking in and making sense of the information our emotions and experiences are providing us and figuring out how to turn those insights into action.

Life can be so hard and unmanageable, whether it is disappointments that have grown into depression, worries that have become crippling anxieties, or past traumas that affect us day to day. So many people feel stuck, thinking their life will always feel this way. Each of us has something in our lives that is holding us back, a limit often based on beliefs we formed in a moment of crisis or when we were small children. Those limiting beliefs bring instability, leaving us feeling broken, unable to see a way forward.

Life has its struggles. We have all had to deal with anxiety or depression or other issues that have left us feeling less than satisfied with life. Losing a loved one for example, can be one of the hardest things to go through. These experiences can be challenging and painful. Maybe you have been trying to manage these issues alone, maybe you are tired, frustrated and unsure what to do. Feelings of hopelessness and frustration can be common when struggling with mental health issues. Talking to someone can help lessen that pain and frustration. You don’t have to keep living the same way, things can change.

Immediate openings available! I help couples and relationships create deeper connection through Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). If you're both willing to show up, that's enough. Together, we'll slow down the painful cycle you've become stuck in, uncover the deeper emotions beneath conflict, and help you understand each other in new ways. My goal is to help you move from frustration and distance to emotional safety, closeness, and true connection. I take the future of your relationship seriously and would be honored to help.

Therapy may be hard or considered difficult, but my goal is to make you feel comfortable and excited to work on a new journey where you will feel confident, happy, and successful. This often requires working with someone like me, who can help you overcome numerous challenges like anxiety, depression, OCD, co-dependence, addictions, relationship difficulties, or stressful life adjustments.

Too often we carry around pain and distress longer than necessary. This may be the result of addiction, lack of connection, negative self-image, or areas outside of our control. While many of these may simply be part of this wonderful mess we call life, through working together and developing the strengths you already have you CAN find more meaning and fulfillment in spite of these difficulties. No one can guarantee that all of life's problems will cease, but it is possible to find peace in those times and develop satisfying relationships with your loved ones, and ultimately, yourself.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
