As a licensed psychologist, therapist, and counselor, I specialize in incorporating the insights gained from state-of-the-art psychological testing into the lives of clients and their families, toward the fulfillment of each client’s highest human potential. I obtained my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Argosy University. I specialize in youth and family therapy, in Lakewood, CO. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Addiction Counselor. I hold certificates in systemic Art, Play, and Sandplay therapy. I earned my Bachelor's in Human Services with an emphasis in Rehabilitative Counseling and minors in Art and Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado. I have a passion for providing an outlet for individuals to have a safe place to grow and reach their full potential.

I have worked for 14+ years with a diverse population of all ages. I have worked in outpatient, inpatient, home-based, residential, and group settings both as a therapist and supervisor. I still enjoy the diversity of clients from a variety of backgrounds. My clients have shaped how I practice.

I am currently getting my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy through Alliant International University. I will be graduating the program in May of 2023. I do not currently have an active license, but I am practicing under supervision. I earned 2 Bachelor Degrees at Saint Mary's College of CA, a BS in Psychology and BA in Justice, Community and Leadership. With graduating in 2020, I jumped into my masters to build my profession as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

I have worked with victims of crime and trauma since 1989. I had a 15-year career in law enforcement and have worked in the mental health field since 2004. I have a private practice specializing in mental health treatment for victims of crimes and emergency service personnel. I provide EMDR and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I provide trainings around the country about the impact of trauma and how to help people heal. I am the author of The PTSD Workbook for Teens. I have a therapy dog named Hugo.

I have been leading, coaching and mentoring in the corporate world for 10 plus years, and private practice coaching for over 5 years. Over the years of working primarily with men I realized that we often struggle to communicate well. When faced with confrontation, we defend ourselves or attack, or simply walk away. In some stressful situations we may choke up and struggle to get our words out. Why have we lost the ability to dialog and understand another point of view without feeling threatened? In helping men find their voice, I first had to discover mine.

My focus in therapy is to meet a client where they are and help build the tools and skills to move them in the direction of growth. To accomplish this, I use evidence-based practices including DBT, MI, and IFS modalities while continuing to build a relationship with all clients. I work with children, teenagers, adults, and couples on a variety of different issues including anxiety, depression, transitions, relationship conflicts, gender identity, sexuality, trauma, substance use, and spirituality.
