Externally you're highly successful. But internally you feel like a hot mess. The "critical voice" inside of your head is constantly nagging you. It tells you that you’re a fraud, that you’ll be discovered eventually, and everyone will reject you. You have an "angry part" that brings brutal emotions and leaves you shipwrecked for days. Then the “I’m not worthy’’ part that plays on repeat in your mind. Sadly, you've heard it so often, that you believe it. And the "needy" part that causes anxiety as it looks around every corner for validation, and is devastated when it doesn't get it. These parts work overtime, leaving you exhausted.

How do we find inner peace when our outer presentation is wrong? Where is self-acceptance when the world around you is unaccepting? Your internal struggles are real, and you are not alone. Wholeness begins with healing. They say time heals all wounds, but some wounds are so deep it feels as though they may never heal. Asking for help takes strength. If you’re experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma from sexual assault or abuse, and/or sex and relationship issues, let’s chat. Please reach out via email if possible

You are unlike any other being that exists. You are a creative force. You go against the grain and it might feel like you don't fit in. Society has tried to box you in for so long that you've pushed away and hidden little parts of your soul. You may have numbed your feelings and ignored your heart's desires as a trade for comfort, stability, acceptance, and normalcy. I understand, because I've been there too, but this is what I know for sure. Our soul is crying out for true freedom. I will hold a safe space for you as we move towards healing what is blocking you from living your most powerful, abundant, and limitless life.

You have the skills you need to achieve your goals. Often, we aren’t conscious of what causes us stress, nor are we aware of the memories that we hold physically. Life on the planet is stressful, I know you don’t always feel like like you have the energy to face it. The fact is that you do continue to face it, that's an accomplishment. My goal is to help you figure "it "out. So often in life, we become experts at everything except ourselves. Together we will identify your goals, and then we will develop the plan to achieve them. If you would like to schedule an appointment, email me your name, birth date and your phone number.

I believe we are all born with everything we need to thrive, then life slaps us in the face in an abundance of ways from a variety of directions and we adjust our beliefs and behaviors in order to simply survive. If you are here looking for a therapist, it is likely you are not satisfied with how you have adjusted to life’s various assaults. My approach to therapy is more direct, utilizes humor, and is founded in cognitive behavioral theory with a strengths based perspective. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated for something different and willing to do the hard work to get it.

Do you ever feel like you're "not enough" or that there is something "wrong" with you? Low self-esteem impacts how we show up in our work and relationships, inhibiting our ability to reach our fullest potential. Sometimes we can feel too vulnerable talking to our friends and family about feelings of shame and guilt. Therapy is not only a safe, nonjudgemental space for expressing your concerns, but also an alliance that fosters positive change. Through unpacking the words of your inner critics, you have the opportunity to find your true self and experience self forgiveness, confidence, love, and acceptance.

If you are feeling anxious, depressed, or emotionally volatile, you are not alone - according to the National Institute of Mental Health, one in five people in the United States live with a mental health issue. Whether you need room to express yourself, help separating, prioritizing, and reflecting on the issues you’re facing, or outside accountability (or maybe a little bit of all of those), I am here for you. My clients find me easy to talk to, straightforward, and a great teammate in helping them set and realize their goals. I adapt well to the needs of my clients so that you are able to benefit from our time together.

Many of us experience intense emotions without a rule book on how to let it move through us. At a young age, we subconsciously take on stories that stick with us and they can often manifest the way we relate to others, our internal world, and the world around us. Whether it is a story that we internalize of being too much or not enough, I want therapy to be a safe container to explore the stories that may be creating shame or holding us back from our highest potential in life. I believe that therapy can be a space to build the internal tools to be able to better communicate and express emotions.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Denver?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
