Relationships are complicated and even the best relationships go through rough patches now and again. You may be fighting more with your partner these days, and sometimes it feels like you just get into the same argument over and over again. It can feel scary, tiring and frustrating to go from feeling connected and understood to feeling lonely in your relationship. If you are like most people you might often feel unappreciated and criticized by your partner which can feel overwhelming to try to fix.

I approach each client with a genuine investment in uncovering his or her unique qualities, strengths, and passions in order to strengthen their sense of autonomy and feelings of positive self-worth. I believe strongly in the tenets of equality, non-judgment, flexibility, and safety within the therapeutic relationship, and my primary aim is to provide an environment in which self-acceptance can be cultivated and personal growth can be nurtured. Treatment will always be a collaborative effort to discover the essential insights necessary for lasting change while simultaneously learning how to treat yourself with more leniency and personal grace.

If you're experiencing depressed mood, anger, anxiety, stress overload, grief, or life transitions, talking to a qualified therapist can help. In a confidential setting, defining your goals and recognizing what it is that you value most will bring clarity to how you want to show up in your life and in the lives of those you cherish.

I take a holistic and contextual approach to therapy. I want to know your sources of pain - but I also want to know what you value, what has shaped you, where you draw inspiration, your beliefs, and how you feel in your own body. We’ll peel back layers, we'll process distress, and we'll build practical tools to manage the challenges you're facing. Ultimately, we’ll build a more authentic, empowered sense of self. If something is no longer serving you, let’s figure out how to change it. My areas of focus include sexuality, sex, identity, anxiety, depression, relationships, and life-transitions.

I am an easy-going person who uses a lot of humor in session. I have a big dog in my office most of the time, who is a trained and certified therapy dog. My ideal client is someone who is motivated to improve their life and is in it for the long haul. A lot of my clients are struggling to figure out who they are or why they're struggling so much and I encourage people to give themselves permission to not have it all figured out. I try my best to make therapy enjoyable but don't get me wrong; you will definitely grow in the process. I have a team of therapists in my practice so regardless of what you're looking for we've got you.

I have a long-standing interest in how our past echoes forward into our present. It is evident how critical early development is in terms of our moods, relationships, and distinctive personalities. I have developed tools for working with people to untangle the past from present so that there is more room for transformation in the future.

Did you experience abuse a child? Did your parents hit you, yell at you , call you names, or neglect to take care of you? I specialize in helping adults like you recover from childhood trauma that happened early in life. People often seek my help because as an adult they're struggling with relationships, they can't control their emotions, and they want to feel more self confident. I help adult men and women find peace and discover self confidence by resolving the trauma that's holding you back from growing. Many of the people I've helped didn't realize how much their childhood experiences had an effect on their life as an adult.

Hello! I am a pschologist who does teletherapy with teens and young professionals. My focus is to help you (or your teen!) feel heard in the stress of school, work, relationships, etc. and to help you commit to a life that feels fulfilling and valuable. I achieve this by working from an acceptance and values-based approach (ACT) with humor and compassion. Teletherapy allows you the flexibility to receive treatment - from school, work, or home - without the commute! I would love for you to reach out, or go to my website, to set up a free consult phone call to see if we'd be a good match!

Creating a safe environment is where I begin. I see therapy as a collaborative process that can lead you toward a greater capacity for self-awareness, trust, clarity, a sense of meaning and freedom. Life gives us surprising obstacles, which can make us feel stuck, depressed, alone or scared. With therapeutic presence, creativity and guidance, we can change our relationship to obstacles and transform. Our darkest point may mark the moment we realize we want to change. I use yoga and creative writing in my practice, and have training in mindfulness/somatic approaches, gestalt therapy, family systems, DBT, & depth psychology.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have specialized expertise in anxiety and family systems. My clinical work is grounded in evidenced-based treatment approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure with Response Prevention, Parent Management Training, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). During care, I give ample attention to the family system as I have found understanding the context in which one lives provides insight for how to optimize symptom reduction and enhance overall functioning.

Therapy. Coaching. Psychedelic Integration---- I am a licensed psychologist and faculty member at the University of Denver. During my years of clinical experience, I came to realize that traditional models of therapy were less efficient than I or my clients wanted them to be. I became focused on finding methods of collaborating with clients to help them quickly recognize  their patterns, make sense of the pattern's origins, and re-write the stories that maintain them. The most important part in this process is working together to identify where you want to shift your way of being to create a life of joy, fulfillment and purpose.

Our lives have gotten really complicated and busy. Sometimes we are put into situations that we just don't have enough information to handle well. There is no manual for being human. There is no one right way of doing things. Coming to therapy is simply seeking feedback, support, and a different perspective from someone who is educated and trained on human behavior and relationships and who can help you find the answers and strategies to live bravely through life's struggles. I see clients from the ages of 5 and up. I work with children, adolescents, teens, and adults. I see individuals and couples.

How can I find a therapist in 80209?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
