Hi, my name is Ashanti Gosha. Therapy can be a hard first step for many people. My style of therapy is a collaborative approach where you can be authentic in a safe space free of shame and judgement. We will work together with you as the driver to help navigate any mental health challenges with me offering insight and interventions that will help you along the way. I have an integrative approach to therapy which means I work with everyone to assess their goals and needs of therapy, and I combine skills from various treatment modalities that best fits client’s need.

I graduated from the University of Denver with a Master’s in Social Work and an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Colorado in Denver. My experience includes residential counseling, case management, psychiatric stabilization through care navigation and counseling, research, program management, jail-based restoration to competency, and school social work within the populations of special and general education.

I work with families, couples, and individuals to help create change, improve communication, strengthen relationships, and develop a strong sense of self-worth. I believe everyone is capable of growth and transformation. My therapeutic style is warm, supportive, and encouraging. I use humor to provide new ways of relating, encourage movement away from defensive reactions, and add a light touch to intense moments. I utilize a blend of Animal Assisted Interventions (AAI) and experiential techniques when working with clients. AAI can enhance our work on self-awareness, communication, relationships, coping skills, and teamwork.

I am a Licensed Social Worker and graduated from Rutgers University with a master's in social work in 2021. I have worked in many different settings as a Mental Health Counselor for adults and teens, and as a case worker assisting families in crisis. ​Additionally, an area of particular interest is sexuality and religious trauma. I am passionate about helping clients navigate issues regarding this and work towards self-compassion, authenticity, and healing.

I believe counseling should be more than just managing symptoms and changing behavior. we each have a story that may be effecting how we are living life today. Additionally, many times in life we experience loss and this goes unprocessed, unheard, and many people become silent sufferers, which can then lead to more significant mental health struggles. I am passionate about working with individuals working on developing a health self/body image, family issues, blending families, life transitions, fertility struggles, among many others. Goals of our time together may include integration (matching your outsides to your insides, so to speak), embodiment (feeling at home in your body), freedom, living truthfully, growth, self awareness, and peace. These goals may feel lofty, but each is possible for YOU, wherever you are now.

I work with a wide variety of clients including individuals, couples, children, teens, families and much of the in between. I also specialize in working with individuals that struggle with addictions, those who have been impacted by trauma and/or crisis, and first responders or members of the military. I have a client-centered therapeutic approach that values gaining insight around the unique experiences and considerations brought to session. Primary modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, solution focused therapy, and trauma-focused modalities.
