Is your child or teen struggling with ARFID, anorexia, bulimia, or binge eating? You may feel worried, overwhelmed or even hopeless about your teen's eating behaviors. You may not know what to say or how best to help. Perhaps your child has been to a treatment center, only to return back home and slip back into old patterns. If this sounds familiar, I invite you to schedule a free 20-minute consultation. I work collaboratively with teens and their families, helping them move toward lasting recovery. Together, we’ll build on your strengths as a family and support your teen in stepping out of their eating disorder.

Do you find yourself taking care of everyone else’s needs while ignoring your own? Many of my clients have struggled with anxiety, people-pleasing, or feeling "not enough" no matter what they do. Some have even felt like they’ve hit a wall with their current therapy and are looking for a next step that goes deeper. If you can relate, you’re not alone — and the right kind of work really can help you heal. My approach is grounded in the belief that you already have what you need inside of you. Together, we’ll work to quiet the outside noise so you can reconnect with your truth and your power.

My clients come in wanting to do the deeper work of figuring out how past beliefs and unhelpful relational patterns are keeping them stuck. Past experiences, family rules, and cultural beliefs might be resulting in a disconnection from your sense of self, needs, and body. Many of my clients are experiencing anxiety and burnout. I see therapy as a way to start exploring and feeling into limiting beliefs, experiences and patterns that are leaving you unfulfilled. Most of my clients are women in the family, relationship, and/or career building stage of life.

You look like you’ve got it together—the career, the smile, the hustle. But inside, you’re running on fumes. Maybe it’s betrayal, burnout, or that quiet voice asking, “Is this really it?” You’ve spent years keeping it all together for everyone else and now you can’t tell what’s real anymore. I work with people who are tired of faking “fine,” ready to face the truth, and done abandoning themselves to keep the peace. You’re not broken—you’re just ready to come home to yourself.

I’m not going to lie, therapy is hard. It will challenge you and force you to change, and no one really likes change. But you wouldn’t be here if you weren’t looking for change. The greatest honor of my career is getting to sit with you while you try. You’ll ugly cry and we’ll laugh and we’ll both make mistakes and I’ll give you that therapist nod that you only hate a little bit. But at some point in our work together, you will look back and celebrate making the difficult decisions that helped you climb out of whatever was making you feel stuck.

My therapy style is relaxed, curious, and silly. I use narrative therapy, existential therapy, sensorimotor psychotherapy and motivational interviewing the most. They weave together very well, as the narratives of our lives directly affect what we believe, how we view yourselves, and how we act.

You’re great at everything- except love, apparently. You’ve built a life you’re proud of. You’re successful, emotionally intelligent, and the go-to person for your friends when they need insight. And yet, when it comes to romantic relationships, it’s like you keep tripping over the same patterns: urgency, self-doubt, mixed signals, chaos. No matter how hard you try, the same fears show up: "Am I too much?" "Not enough?" "Am I ever really going to feel secure with someone?" You’re probably starting to believe that love just isn’t for you. But something in you isn’t giving up.

Struggling with your adolescent or teenager? It is vital that parents understand their teen's behavior rather than merely react to it. Working with me, your child will learn about themselves. They will discover their obstacles, and develop the inner strength and skills to make changes in themselves, It is immensely important for teens to have a neutral person to vent to, and teach them useful techniques to address their challenges. Teens experience many stressors which can lead to various issues that impact the entire family and many can be treated in therapy.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
