I have been in the social work field since 2004 and bring a wide variety of professional and personal experience to my practice. I am a provider best described as empathetic and dedicated, who makes appropriate use of my sense of humor. My non-traditional upbringing taught me sensitivity to every family’s situation. My practice is shaped by my belief that being real is better than being perfect.

I specialize in supporting women, LGBTQIA+ folks, young adults, and mothers, ages 18-35 who may be having difficulties with anxiety or simply need a safe space to talk about their experiences and their lives. My goal is to provide a welcoming, warm, and affirming place for you to process through not only your daily stressors, but to unpack some of your childhood experiences that may be manifesting in the present moment. I believe you are the expert on yourself and my role is to listen, validate, and work in collaboration with you to establish short-term and long-term healing goals.

Hello. I am Tammy. I recently retired from school counseling. As a counselor in public schools, I have experience with children of ages 5-12. Although I have worked with children in the schools for 29 years and they are near and dear to my heart, I welcome a chance to also be able to counsel adults in private practice. Mireya Tamez is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas who has been practicing since 1992. Mireya has an MA in Clinical Counseling from St. Mary's University. Mireya is able to help clients by meeting them where they are in their journey and by exploring with each individual a wholistic wellness model that fits their needs. Outside of work, Mireya enjoys spending time with family as well as binge watching on HULU and Netflix, meeting with friends for brunch, and weekend getaways with family.

I believe that our past experiences have dictated the way we react as a child, a teen, and an adult, a family or as couple with our current situation. Having a better understanding about why we do these things can create a lasting change on our perspective of life.
