My ideal client is curious and open, ready to roll up their sleeves with me to find out what's keeping them stuck. Whether its negative relational patterns, daunting thoughts, or paralyzing emotions, my goal is to dive in with a gentle and curious lens to help you understand what's getting in the way. I am energized by helping clients understand their family of origin and its effect on their current relationships, peer into past traumas that bring emotional burdens to their current life, and find healthier and more effective ways to cope with life's inevitable stressors.

You’ve been through so much already, and you’re ready for things to feel different. Maybe you’re exhausted from always being “on guard,” disconnected from yourself or others, or unsure who you are outside of survival mode. I help women and LGBTQIA+ folks who’ve experienced trauma begin to feel more grounded, whole, and at peace in their lives. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in feminist and relational-cultural frameworks. Together, we’ll work to understand how past experiences have shaped your story and help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that know you deserve safety and care.

I enjoy working with clients alongside their relationship issues, decision making skills, substance use (you or someone close to you), and figuring out college/career direction. We will build self-awareness, challenge our thinking, and gain control over our emotions to create impactful change through our sessions. My goal is to ensure that what is done in therapy is personalized, collaborative, and unique to you as the client, alongside a plan of action to address the issue(s) so you leave the session feeling invested in yourself.

I work with adults dealing with anxiety, life changes, or figuring out what it means to be neurodivergent in a world that doesn’t always make it easy. My style is collaborative and affirming. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s been working, what hasn’t, and how to build a life that actually feels like yours. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, make sense of things, and find your footing again with honesty, compassion, and maybe a little humor along the way.

You have been feeling not good enough, not capable, and unworthy for so long that you believe that is who you are. You feel so unloved, unheard, and out-of-control or unsafe that you have no hope for change. These feelings cause you to react in ways that creates conflict, or you withdraw to avoid these feelings all together. Guilt and shame are often present, sometimes leading to depression. Worry and anxiety are a part of your daily thought life. You want to be free from these feelings, but you can't imagine ever feeling any different than you do right now.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by past hurts, or unsure why your patterns keep repeating despite your efforts to change? Maybe you’ve faced relational trauma, addiction, or the unique pressures of being a first-generation adult, and you long to feel understood. You want a safe space where your experiences, especially as someone who is neurodivergent, from the BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ community, are honored and where you can find clarity, healing, and hope for a life that feels truly yours.

The gay, lesbian, and bi-sexual community and their allies make up most of my clientele. I primarily see individuals but welcome relationship clients as well. I’ve worked with doctors, adult industry workers, faith leaders, social workers and therapists, nurses, retirees, police officers, EMTs, college students, and those who have been previously incarcerated. Not everyone or every issue is a good fit for me and I'm not a good fit for everyone. In cases where a person's needs or issues are outside of my scope or if I feel we are not a good match for working together I will provide referrals to other providers.

I’m a therapist serving all of Texas. I’m mom to 2 pretty bad-ass teenagers, a best friend to several gorgeous people, and a partner (I’m polyamorous, and have two partners currently). My friends, family, clients, and partners are the most important things on the planet to me. I have several cats, who are terrible, and I love them. I am a Health At Every Size provider. Four things that always make me happy: good coffee, The Office, a good eyeshadow palette, and fresh hydrangeas.

I have been a psychologist for over 30 years with a breadth of experience in a variety of clinical settings. I received extensive training in psychodynamic therapy, including studies at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute. This depth approach is especially helpful for individuals who have a pattern of difficulties in relationships or have personality issues that hold them back in their personal and professional lives. Individuals with long standing self-esteem issues often find a depth approach especially helpful as do individuals with anxiety and depression who have not been helped by other therapy approaches.

Welcome. It is not uncommon for a person to feel stuck and struggle with anxiety, depression, anger or relationship concerns; and therapy can help work through that pain. Therapy is also a good opportunity to reflect about yourself, your relationships, and things that are important to you, such as your own values and morals. I am welcoming of people from all backgrounds taking those first steps to make the changes they want to see. I create a space to help people feel unstuck and move in a direction they want.

There are qualities that we daydream about when we envision our highest selves like: peace, healing, glowing self-confidence, a healthy lifestyle, etc. The problem is- when we begin to work towards these qualities it can feel like our feet are glued to the floor. You may start to think: Where do I begin? What does it actually mean to “heal?” How do I begin to love/trust myself again? What version of myself do I want to be? Or How do I find the motivation to even start? Well, that’s what I’m here for!

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
