I believe therapy is a space for growth and change that can lead to stronger relationships, healthier ways of functioning, and a deeper sense of well-being. In our work together, I’ll bring empathy, respect, and genuine care. I know that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll work together to find what feels right for you. Most importantly, I’ll offer a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly heard.

My goal as a professional counselor is to build a warm, open, authentic, non-judgmental partnership with my clients. My theoretical orientation is somewhat eclectic, however I tend to use cognitive behavioral and solution focused techniques in my practice quite often. My treatment approach is unique for each client as we work together to reach your goals. I want you to feel comfortable first and foremost.

I work with clients who may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in painful relationship patterns. They may carry trauma, shame, or self-doubt from past experiences and struggle with boundaries, trust, or feeling “not enough.” They want relief from constant overthinking and emotional triggers. They long to feel safe in their body, confident in their voice, and secure in relationships. Their goal is lasting change—not just coping, but healing at the source.

Relationships are often the most difficult part of our lives. While they may provide companionship and comfort, they can also be a source of conflict and pain. Regardless of who we are or from where we came, we will each face life events that challenge our sense of self. Our response to each event - a crossroad - can shape the remainder of our journey. I am honored to walk with you as you consider your paths and take those crucial steps.

Our psychological, emotional, and social well being is an important aspect of our overall health. In fact, when our mental health is out of balance it could have a negative impact on our physical health and vice versa. Common factors that affect our mental health include loss of a loved one, medical diagnosis, relational and family issues, difficulty finding life/work balance, job loss or work dissatisfaction, life transitions, and past/current traumatic events. These are part of living and being human. Counseling is one resource that could help you get through these difficult times, to process your feelings and learn coping tools.

Many of the men I work with are capable, responsible, and doing well on the outside, yet something underneath feels off. They are often executives, business owners, or professionals carrying real weight at work and home, quietly navigating anxiety, stress, or burnout. You may be facing relationship strain, a major life transition, or a growing disconnection from God, yourself, or the people closest to you. Others come with depression, a loss of purpose, or questions of identity and meaning that don't go away. For clients who want it, I integrate a Christian framework into counseling, though faith is never a requirement to begin.

Finding the right therapist can be overwhelming. I strive to make the process as comfortable as possible. Having served a variety of clientele, I have found that my passion lies in working with trauma. My goal is not to "fix you" but to walk alongside you on your healing journey. While this journey may be challenging at times, I aim to practice with kindness, care, and compassion, always.

Lamb Behavioral Health Center provides therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. We treat individuals with mild to severe psychological disorders. We also foster prevention through education. One of the unique aspects of therapy at LBHC is the emphasis on the family. Working with and improving these vital relationships provides the best outcomes for our patients. As such, we require parent/guardian participation for all patients under the age of 18; however, the level of parent involvement does vary based on patient need. It is also common for adult patients to work on family issues as part of their treatment.

Currently accepting clients virtually all across Texas! Life can sometimes throw some challenges our way where we need some help and guidance to get through it. We’ve all been there. It’s okay to not be okay with all that’s going on in the world and I would like to commend you for taking the first step towards helping yourself! Depression, anxiety, and trauma are areas that I have worked with before. I have also worked with clients who suffer from chronic illnesses. I have a chronic illness of my own and would like to continue to help others who suffer from those since they can be very challenging.

Thoughts, feelings and experiences can sometimes be so difficult to sift through alone! Together, we can develop a safe and nurturing space to begin exploring the intricacies of yourself and the world around you. My strength based perspective focuses on person- in- environment, taking into consideration the many facets of human exposure and environmental influences that formulate a person’s life. I have come to see that a person’s greatest power to change comes mostly from their own internal resources of reflection, motivation and realization. My main objective is to be a caring companion to this healing process.

I offer evening and weekend appointments to increase access to care. Life can be nasty, which can create constriction and panic within us and our relationships. This is uncomfortable, and what do we do? Disconnect and wall up. If you're feeling stuck, you're not alone. It can be hard to understand what our bodies and emotions are signaling beneath the surface. My clients call me because they are emotionally restricted, disconnected, grief-bound, have communication challenges, and are facing major life transitions, such as marriage, divorce, or parenting strains. They just want to figure out how to move forward and feel better.

I am 70 years young. I have been a clinical social worker/psychotherapist in the Brazos Valley since 1988. I have a good "grapevine" of local professionals, so I often help clients with information/referral to resources for on-going support beyond therapy. I welcome questions you may have. I can be reached by text at 979-255-7004 or email. Also, please check out my Facebook page. I accept new clients as I have time slots available. I offer some evening appointments, as well as afternoon appointments, but no weekends. I will be semi-retiring in 2026, but will continue to maintain a small practice.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
