I am a bilingual English/Spanish Licensed Professional Counselor and have thorough experience in dealing with trauma and crisis related issues as well as extensive knowledge in individual therapy, family therapy, couples counseling, and group counseling. My goal is to help the client effectively resolve any struggles in which they may be going through in order for them to be able to live a calm and fulfilling life.

Dr. Johnson's hope is to provide compassionate and collaborative psychological services for children, adolescents, and their families. Dr. Johnson provides expert evaluation, therapy, and consultation to children, adolescents and their parents in order to help sort through concerns and find answers. Presenting concerns for an evaluation may include developmental delays, learning problems, attention difficulties, emotional and/or behavioral concerns, or social skills problems. In individual and family therapy, Dr. Johnson focuses on supporting the emotional, behavioral, and social well-being of children and adolescents. Therapy is also offered to target children's behavioral adherence and strengthen parent-child relationships.

I have several decades of education and experience working with adults, teens, children, elders, couples and families. I specialize in couples counseling and adult relationships. I have been doing couples work since 1977 and also have experience teaching graduate students in Marriage and Family Counseling. Courses included Separation, Divorce and Remarriage as well as Introduction to Marriage and Family Counseling. Previously I was Director of the Counseling Center at University of Houston where I had a staff of Psychologists and trained Psychologists.

I always like to say God gave me children early in my adult life because I was meant to help children in their own life struggles. I fully believe that God has plans for us even if we do not fully understand them! When our children face struggles that we cannot understand or feel equipped to help them with, we can feel lost and overwhelmed. Children and adolescents are often placed in situation and have experiences that are out of their control.
