Hello all. I would be honored to be part of the journey of your life, and believe all people need unconditional support to live as contently as possible. My areas of focus are depressed/anxious/mood disorders age 14-55, adults with life transition concerns and ADHD/ASD (I'm neurodiverse). I pride myself in working amazingly with young persons and helping those with low self esteem, dark thoughts, mood swings, self harm/SI. I am trans supporting and value any person's identity above all else. This is a judgement free zone. I also get excited about young adults in large life transitions like college, moves, and partnerships!

You're not positive when it occurred, but you find yourself struggling to reach new levels of healthy living because of current life stressors and/or past events. You're dealing with anxiety, anger, addiction, loneliness, or PTSD from experienced trauma or a disconnect from your spouse or family. You can no longer ignore these feelings. You want that happy feeling back for yourself and/or your relationship.

It is my belief that who we are today is a product of our experiences throughout our lives. My work as a counselor helps you make positive changes in your life and understand any barriers to making progress. Oftentimes, the roots of our challenges run deep into our childhoods, our families, and our cultures. Psychotherapy helps us discern what legacy we want to continue. While exploring the past, we inevitably alter the present. You don’t have to do it alone! I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward mental health and wellness.

I love working with all types of clients from diverse backgrounds but my heart belongs to working with "outsiders." People who feel like they are different or don't belong. I have often felt like I am an "out of the box" type of person but have learned to love it and thrive in a life I have built around what works for me. I want to be able to help others do the same! I provide an unbiased, safe place for everyone to feel heard and welcomed.

When anxiety is taking up too much space in your life, things feel really out of control. You might be constantly worrying about worst case scenarios, or stuck in fight-or-flight mode and unable to relax. Your body may be registering your tension with headaches, stomach pains, tiredness, or a lack of focus. In children, anxiety may also look like frequent fearfulness, nightmares, or angry outbursts at home or school. You've probably already tried a lot of different things to help yourself or your child, and now you want some additional help as you ask anxiety to take a back seat!

I like to help people who want to make permanent changes in thinking, feeling and behaving. This doesn't happen from learning scripts of how to act or talk but rather from awareness and identification of past programming, and a plan. I have a unique foundation professionally and personally to partner with you in exploring your life. I will meet you where you are and support you in getting a better life; the one you want. If you realize that you are not reaching your human potential; not truly living, you know it is time to do something. I hope we can work together to improve your life in the "here and now."

Allowing my clients to experience the world of counseling in a positive way. I practice positive psychology, which will give my clients a whole new way of looking at their lives, even though the world may not be the most positive place they see. My clients will be introduced to skills that will help them move forward in a life they thought they were "stuck" in. I help my clients see their strengths as their motivators for life's uneasy situations. I am a counselor that is a Christian, and can assist those clients that use faith as a basis for handling life's obstacles.

How can I find a therapist in 77385?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
