I am in my 8th year counseling at-risk children, and my 19th year in the public school system facilitating change in the lives of my students, their parents, and my colleagues. I am very interested in languages and culture. I have been an exchange student in several countries. My experience abroad has sharpened my observation skills and sense of empathy. I have been supporting students and parents my whole career. As a licensed professional counselor, I look forward to putting my skill set to use in helping you find solutions to the issues that are causing you concern.
I practice an eclectic form of therapy that is firmly rooted in existentialist theory. Bad things happen in life and the only thing we can control is how we choose to deal with life's unexpected challenges. I employ techniques best suited to address your needs.
My emphasis is on the here and now. It is important to analyze where we have come from to identify an issue's point of origin. However, I firmly believe that where we are and where we are going needs to be the focus of the therapeutic relationship. Moving forward through he wisdom of the past.
