I have over 25 years of experience working with adults, both individually and in groups. Though I work with a variety of problems, my area of specialization includes the treatment of social anxiety, agoraphobia, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder.

I primarily employ a cognitive-behavioral treatment approach, helping clients to identify and challenge those distortions in their thinking that interfere with achieving a sense of well-being in their lives.
I started my career working with the Phobia and Anxiety Disorders Center in North Dallas. I traveled throughout Texas to lead groups and to see clients individually. I also worked for many years at the Community Psychotherapy Center in Dallas, seeing adult clients dealing with a variety of issues/problems.

Groups
social anxiety
This group will be a time-limited (12 week) group for people with social anxiety disorder. Although there will be opportunities to share experiences with and get support from other group members who have been dealing with social anxiety, the focus of the meetings will be learning skills to help with this problem. The sessions will include psycho-education, relaxation techniques, cognitive restructuring (learning to identify and challenge the thoughts that are "getting you in trouble"), assertiveness training, goal setting, and exposure/practice.
