I help people learn such strategies through Cognitive Behavior Therapy. CBT is an evidenced based approach to counseling that is proven to treat many different issues including Weight Issues, Addiction, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Schizophrenia and Personality Disorders. I have seen many clients find relief through counseling.
My experience includes working with individuals in crisis and subsequent recovery working for community based organizations, private hospitals and private practice. I focus on a recovery model based on CBT, assisting individuals learn recovery skills related to Addiction, Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Bipolar, Schizophrenia and Personality Disorders.
I have had exposure to many different environments within the mental health community, working with high level professionals at private hospitals and the homeless in community based programs. Mental health issues do not discriminate. I have witnessed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy prove helpful for many dealing with severe mental health issues.

Substance Abuse
The group is open to anyone dealing with various substance abuse issues. The focus is on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and SMART Recovery, and is not a 12 step group. Individuals learn strategies and skills to manage emotions and external circumstances that trigger the impulse to use. People from varied spiritual and non-spiritual perspectives find the group helpful. It is a safe, non-judgmental space for people to assist each other in the goals of sobriety and what lies beneath the compulsion to use.
