I have experience working with adults, children, teens, and families.  I am a bilingual therapist; I speak English and Spanish. I have experience treating various issues including depression, life adjustments, self-esteem issues, domestic violence, addiction, grief, loss, anxiety, and abuse.

I have extensive experience working in a non-profit setting with adults, couples, families, and groups. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as a person-centered approach to help clients work through issues of depression, family violence, eating disorders, trauma, loss, addiction, anxiety, self-harm, and stress management. I have an extensive history of working with foster children and their families and am well versed in the unique challenges these families face.

My experience includes working in Private Practice settings and Veteran Mental Health/Rehabilitation facility. Additional experience has been gained by working in adolescent residential treatment, and intensive outpatient. My counseling experience has given me a natural ability to work with individuals, groups, and families of any culture or background. I have the ability to meet individuals where they are in life and help implement tools to grow. My expertise includes working with Veterans adjusting back to civilian life, adults, and adolescents. I modify therapy for your specific needs.

My approach to therapy is using an emotionally focused therapy. EFCT helps people step out of negative patterns and helps to create a new sense of loving connection. 86 percent of couples report feeling happier in their relationships after completing EFT couple therapy. Studies of EFT have shown a 75% long-lasting success rate.

I have been in private practice for over 26 years. I am privileged to counsel with adolescents age 12 and above, individuals and couples. Through counseling, I provide increased awareness and understanding of one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors and how one can develop more positive experiences in many areas of life. My therapy approach is interactive and solution focused utilizing various counseling methods to help you learn new skills and gain new insights. I collaborate with you to achieve healing and growth, emotionally, intellectually, behaviorally and spiritually.

In addition to private practice, I have several years experience in mental health and non-profit programs.

As part of the Spectra Therapies + Evaluations team, I provide individual and group therapies for all ages. I specialize in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with children and adolescents, and I work closely with families to help parents understand how to better support their child. I am trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), an evidence-based treatment program for parents of children with anxiety/OCD. My background includes work in the outdoor education and leadership field with children and teenagers focusing on behavioral change and self-empowerment during a variety of life difficulties.

Healing and making life changes is what therapy is all about. I work with adolescents and adults using approaches encompassing spiritual, cognitive, behavioral, insight, and EMDR to make this happen. EMDR is a physiologically based method of therapy I use with many clients who have post traumatic stress, disturbing memories, anxiety and/or a history of abuse. This ranges from trauma experienced by veterans of wars, crime, and natural disasters to childhood emotional and physical abuse to varying degrees. Together we will match your therapy needs with the optimum approach for your healing and facilitation of change.

Christian counseling is available. We see children 3 and up, adolescents, adults, and seniors for individual, marital, family, and group counseling.
