Sometimes we encounter problems that feel intractable - conflicts at work, home, relationships, and even (and maybe especially) within the self. Sometimes, the nature of the problem isn't obvious. It's just a vague feeling that something is wrong. In these circumstances, it can be helpful to seek help from someone outside the everyday flow of one's life.
I practice a form of psychotherapy that is broadly informed by the psychoanalytic tradition. This perspective emphasizes the importance of self-awareness through exploration of one's emotional life and the centrality of the therapeutic relationship as a means to healing.
As a therapist, my primary aim is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic place where we can collaborate. I am not, nor do I presume to be, an expert on your life and your circumstances. Rather, I am a temporary guest, invited by you, to assist you in whatever way I can as you work towards your goals.
