You may be feeling stressed, anxious, or stuck in patterns that don’t feel like “you.” Maybe life transitions, perfectionism, or self-doubt are making it hard to move forward with confidence. What you want most is relief from the constant pressure, clarity about who you are, and the tools to create a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.

My hours are 9-2:00pm. I have several immediate morning and early afternoon openings. I have no after school/weekend availability. From teen years through adulthood, women have unique and valuable experiences that deserve special care and respect. I have combined my passion for teen girls, pregnancy, birth, women, and families with my professional skills in counseling to focus on self worth, relationship skills, and reaching personal goals. I practice from an attachment and trauma perspective which means I believe much of our wounds and healing are connected to the health of our relationships, both with others and ourselves.

Hardy. Delicate. Deeply Rooted. Those are some descriptions I’ve heard of the Redbud – Oklahoma’s state tree. They’re also an early sign that spring is coming. What a great representation of the internal growth and change we strive for in counseling! For 20 years, I've worked with individuals and families through grief & loss, anxiety, depression, family/work/personal stress, coping with divorce, remarriage, and rebuilding brokenness. I have extensive experience in medically-focused settings (disability at any age, hospice, caregiving, medical trauma, chronic pain/illness) and with aging populations coping with life stage changes.

At my core, I believe that play is an essential part of a human interaction. This is because I wholeheartedly believe that play should not end at a certain age, or when a child is “too old”. From a young age, play is how we learn boundaries and social skills. Play can also be used to process trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and much more. Play therapy can help build trust and attachment with your child, while the both of you learn more helpful behaviors and how to express your emotions. I encourage a child’s caregivers to take an active role in the therapeutic process.

It's important to find a therapist who fits, so I want you to know a few things about me as you search for your right therapist. First and foremost, I am direct. I believe the best work happens when I can be real with you. I have walked through immense personal losses throughout my life; if you are going through something similar I can share some things I have learned from personal experience and doctoral research.

I am passionate about helping children who are in families going through the tough stuff. I believe children learn and heal best through play. I also enjoy working with adolescents, families, and individual adults. I believe we were created to live in connection with others. The nature of sharing our burdens and hardships with another human who is listening and showing empathy is healing in itself. It is my goal in therapy to create a safe space where you feel heard. We are not promised a life free of hardships but we can journey through it together.

As a play therapist, I believe that play can be used to help families and children find solutions. Play is our first language. Play can build trust, regulate emotions, and help us express thoughts and feelings that might otherwise remain hidden. I believe that play therapy works best when parents/caregivers and families are actively involved in the treatment process. I believe in a holistic and systemic treatment in working with children and the adults in their lives.
