Is your child struggling with behaviors at school? Life changes including divorce or death of a loved one? Impulse control, concentration, and other ADHD symptoms? Disordered eating? Trauma? With experience as a therapist since 2010, I've had the opportunity to work with a wide array of clients through community mental health & private practice. First I would assess and discuss your child's specific needs, explore how best to support them, & then identify needed skills and equip your family and your child with these skills. Your child deserves to thrive socially, academically, and within your family and I'm excited to help!

What is your greatest desire? Take a moment to really think about it. What stands in your way? You may be struggling to answer these questions. You may feel lost, confused, helpless, and overwhelmed. Maybe you feel alone or too embarrassed to talk to someone, but you don't have to brave the journey alone. Life is full of twists and turns, obstacles, and roadblocks that create a need to adjust the route to your destination. You may need help navigating the journey, and therapy is not “one size fits all.”

Life transitions are hard to navigate and you don’t have to do it alone. Getting married, having children and teenagers, empty nesting, divorce, or the loss of a loved ones are major life changes that I, as a family systems therapist can help with. While working at the hospital I became aware how difficult these changes can be and now in my own practice I specialize in helping people navigate transitions with grace. In my own process of transitioning and grief I discovered the significance of acceptance commitment therapy and somatic work, and these have become part of my practice.

I help clients find a greater sense of themselves by helping them to become more aware of their own human nature. I aim to empower clients to become clear about their goals and how to achieve them. Clients can hope to gain greater understanding and respect for their own inner ability to find resolution. In counseling, people feel supported while working through real and perceived barriers at their own pace. I believe each of us has the wisdom we seek within ourselves; the key is to access that wisdom and to believe in it.

I have been a practicing clinical psychologist since 1979. I can personally attest to how much I have improved as a therapist with that thirty years of experience. I have learned how important it is to help an individual find their own solutions to their unique problems. I do this in a context of cognitive behavioral therapy, as this approach has been proven to be as effective in the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders as medication.

As a trained professional counselor practicing in Arkansas, Arizona, and Missouri, I have been equipped to work with individuals, couples, and families and I have a passion for seeing people live well and find their purpose. I hold a Specialist degree in Psychology and Counseling and a Doctorate in Psychology and Christian Counseling, utilizing professional theories with a faith-based foundation.

Your world is spinning. Your heart is beating rapidly, and you’re finding it difficult to catch your breath. Your thoughts race between “What am I going to do?” and “Who am I without them?” Tears are flowing. Can you hear the voice now? The voice that has always been there. It is still calm and nurturing. “I am here.” “You will be ok,” it whispers. But what does “ok” look like moving forward? Whatever it is, you know that it will be drastically different than the old “ok.” It is time to create a new normal. You’ve silenced your inner voice for so long, but now you know you need it more than ever. It’s time to tune into that voice.
