Regardless of what brings you to therapy, I offer a safe and comfortable space where you can be your full self without fear of judgment. Being a whole and healthy person in our world can be hard, but with support in your corner it is doable, and worth the work. I know that working to make positive changes can often be met with challenges on all sides. My goal is to meet clients where they are by remaining open and compassionate to each individual’s struggles, and then walk with them towards the life they want to create.

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you're a teen dealing with school, friendships, or family dynamics, or an adult balancing work, relationships, and personal growth, the weight of it all can be tough to manage. If you’re a parent seeking help for your teen, I’ll create a space where they can feel heard and learn to manage their emotions. If you're seeking support for yourself, therapy can help you find clarity, build resilience, and feel more in control as you navigate life's ups and downs.

My primary experience is in working with individuals and couples to heal relationship wounds, recover from trauma, and find new ways to interact with life’s most stubborn issues. My ideal clients probably have really tough problems, and they may be hurting very deeply, but they are also ready to try on new thoughts and behaviors to find healing and their "new normal." I work with those suffering from PTSD symptoms, severe anxiety and/or depression, as well as individuals and couples in affair recovery, blended family situations, and those going through major life changes.

It’s like your life has been split apart. There was the you from before this devastating loss –happy, hopeful, and enthusiastic for the future. And then there’s you now – confused, angry, and unspeakably sad. You had a plan for your life that gave you comfort and security, but all at once, it disappeared. It’s difficult to accept what’s happened, let alone begin to actually process it. You’re unsure where to go from here, and even worse, you don’t really care. It’s like an integral part of what made you yourself has been taken away, and you don’t know who you are now. You can’t see any way forward, and it feels hopeless.

“Your mental health matters—and you don’t have to journey alone.” Life can feel overwhelming—whether you’re navigating pain from the past, stress in the present, or uncertainty about the future. I walk alongside each client with empathy, honesty, and care—offering guidance that meets you where you are and helps you move toward where you want to be for healing, growth, and positivity.

You’re likely here because things aren’t going well and you’re stuck. That’s OK! This is a normal experience everybody faces – I've been there too, it’s part of being human. Hear this: there is no problem you’re facing that can’t be made better in some way. I work with adults and couples get past these sticking points, supporting people experiencing addiction, suicidal ideation, mood issues, life changes, and relationship problems - people who want to find true purpose and meaning regardless of what's happened to them or what’s happening inside of them.

I primarily work with kids, teens, and young adults, and I especially enjoy providing teen therapy for girls and LGBTQ teens who are navigating identity, friendships, family dynamics, and the pressures of growing up. Many of the young people I meet with feel overwhelmed by big emotions, anxiety, social stress, or experiences that are hard to talk about. I provide a supportive, LGBTQ-affirming therapy space where clients can show up as themselves and feel safe being honest.I also enjoy working with neurodivergent teens and young adults, including those with ADHD or autism, who may feel like the world wasn’t designed with them in mind

The journey to healing and fulfillment is not always easy but with commitment, it is always worthwhile. It is my belief that with the right therapeutic alliance and the right environment, everyone can unpack their own emotional "bag." I seek to meet clients where they are emotionally and assist them in finding the core of their problems to move forward. I use a humanistic approach to assist clients to increase their awareness and to understand, express, and regulate their emotions. I come from a place of non-judgment, compassion, empathy, and honesty to provide observation, healthy coping skills, and a listening ear.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
