You show up, get things done, and keep pushing forward but inside, you're stretched thin. You’re constantly overthinking, overdoing, or playing out worst-case scenarios. You look successful from the outside yet you always feel behind, second-guess yourself, and wonder when it’ll all catch up. I work with professionals and emerging professionals dealing with stress, burnout, anxiety, and irritability who want to feel more balanced, more enjoyment, and to be the best version of themselves. We’ll take a look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors keep you stuck and how small, intentional shifts can create meaningful change.

A little about me: I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, DBT-trained therapist, and Spiritual Life Coach specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions—whether it’s adjusting to single parenting, breaking cycles of dysfunction, rebuilding after a breakup, or redefining who you are.

You’re the one people turn to — at work, at home, in your community. But holding space for everyone else leaves little room for your own healing. Maybe you feel weighed down by old trauma, constant stress, or the belief that you “should” be coping better. I specialize in working with helping professionals and caregivers — medical providers, therapists, parents, and others — who give endlessly but feel depleted inside. With EMDR, I help you process the layers of trauma and stress that keep you stuck in survival mode. Together, we’ll create space for relief, clarity, and balance, so you can keep showing up for the people you love.

Relationships can be complicated, whether between couples, co-parents, or families navigating adoption, separation, or reunification. You deserve space for healing, growth, and understanding. Perhaps you are looking for support dealing with issues stemming from adoption, foster care, or kinship care. Maybe you are a family seeking to reunify after estrangement or separation. It may be that you are a couple looking for support to make intentional decisions about your future while maintaining emotional well-being.

Greetings! Everyone faces adversity in life. The good news is that I can support as you navigate through grief, life transitions, and trauma. I would like to work with you as you learn how to display the overcomer that has been buried under the many stressors of life. In Louisiana, we have survived hurricanes and recovery/rebuilding, the effects of the pandemic, and so much more. These experiences teach you how strong and resilient you are yet it can be hard to maintain healthy thoughts, habits and emotions. Daily responsibilities can overwhelm you when there is so much to juggle.

In eight years of psychotherapy work with children, adolescents, college students, adults, and families, I have found that unhealthy levels of stress can worsen problems related to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and beyond. These issues often lead to additional problems at home, school, or work and ultimately affect relationships with friends and family. Struggling with difficult life transitions may have a significant and lasting impact on the mind. It can be hard to navigate these situations or to know where to turn.

Thank you for taking time to read my profile! Since May of 2003, I have been working in the field of addiction in a variety of settings, spending most of my time in the residential setting. Working in addiction has given me the ability to work with a wide range of patients struggling with a wide range of issues including, trauma, depression, anxiety and self-esteem. I enjoy working from an REBT therapeutic counseling model, which helps clients understand how their irrational thought patterns can affect their emotional state and by challenging those thought patterns, we can begin to take control of our emotions.

My work as a therapist began with my own search for and exploration of meaning, insight and growth. I work in an organic way so that the unique personality, both conscious and unconscious, of each client can come to the forefront. Oftentimes clients bring dreams, creative work and other material that allows for unknown elements to come into the light of our work together.

I have lived in the St. Roch neighborhood of New Orleans for 17 years now, and have served as a community healer for over 2 decades practicing trauma informed modalities. During this time I’ve worked with individuals, children, couples, and families who are struggling, and I have watched their wellness, confidence, sobriety, relationships, and physical health improve within the span of our work together. Se habla Espanol! (Now accepting clients from Florida online!) I am a trauma informed therapist that specializes on women's issues and family therapy. Depression, anxiety, PTSD and compulsive behaviors are common diagnosis that my clients have struggled with; through the exploration of their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors many clients experience personal growth and symptom relief. LGBTQ+ clients are welcome! It can be a difficult decision to begin therapy, but once you have made the decision; you have begun the process of change. Although therapy is an investment of time, energy and resources, the rewards can be great.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
