It takes immense courage to seek counseling when you find yourself struggling. Life's more challenging experiences often leave us struggling with hurt, doubt, or feelings of being overwhelmed. For many, this can be daunting and the idea of talking about our struggles with a stranger may sound uncomfortable and even scary. My focus is to provide a safe space by listening with compassion and curiosity and without judgement. Together we can discover your journey to a fulfilling life defined by you.

I offer an existential, holistic approach to self-growth/ healing. I partner with clients to identify and correct the maladaptive coping strategies, behavior patterns and belief systems that are keeping them stuck. EMDR is a therapeutic intervention I often employ to address grief and trauma. This treatment method is effective in trauma symptom reduction, as well as the adoption of healthier belief systems, sense of self and world view. My style of therapy not only includes the focus on the behavioral, or even the physical rewiring of the brain; but also encourages finding the meaning behind the pain and embracing the spiritual self

In my many years as a psychologist, I have worked with clients across the spectrum of emotional struggles. The one thing that they all have in common is that they are in pain and want to change through understanding what keeps them "stuck" and then identifying and drawing upon their inner strengths. For some, this will mean learning better ways to accomplishing specific goals, while for others, a deeper understanding of the painful experiences that have shaped their emotional development is necessary for positive change. In the end, the emotional pain that brings most people to therapy is about relationships that aren't working.

Over the years, I have spent a great deal of time working with children and adults who have experienced traumatic events. These traumatic events may be difficult to understand and can impact our daily interactions at school, home, and work. When those experiences become overwhelming, working with a therapist who is specifically trained in trauma can be very helpful to the individual and family. In addition to providing services for trauma, I work closely with individuals (of all ages) who have anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism, and chronic medical conditions. Clinical services may be provided in the office, home, school or via telehealth.

I'm so happy you're here. I believe one of the most essential elements to truly effective therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. It is inevitable that a therapist’s personality is present in each session and mine frequently shows up through warmth, humor, openness, empowerment, and curiosity. I aim to be my authentic self in our sessions and strive to create a safe and supportive space for you to do the same. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, so I tailor my style to fit your needs and goals. Therapy can be hard work and I am here to make it more comfortable and meaningful for you.

Everyone said having a baby would be the most magical time in your life, but you're finding that juggling the demands of parenthood and partnership leave you feeling more unappreciated, unseen in your marriage, and overwhelmed than you've ever been before. Feelings of loneliness and anxiety visit more than you could have imagined, and worry sets in that maybe you'll never cut it as a mom. Know it doesn't have to be this way. You can trust your abilities as a parent, enjoy the here-and-now with your partner and your baby, and approach both the chaos and beauty of parenthood with compassion, confidence, and humor.

Most of us will eventually arrive at a season in which we realize that our current ways of dealing with past trauma, connecting with people, or balancing life stressors just aren't working anymore. I'm passionate about creating safe space within the counseling relationship to explore the circumstances that prompt us to open to a new way of being. It's my joy and privilege to support those learning to tell their story, develop tools to use in coping with wounds and difficulties, shoulder self-accountability and gain momentum in pursuing strong mental/emotional health, so they may build toward the quality of life they desire.

Especially in difficult times, it can be hard to find sources of acceptance, affirmation, and healing. Often the people closest to us - family, classmates, and co-workers, don't accept us for who we are. Perhaps we are gifted and see the world differently, in a new relationship and scared of old mistakes, navigating parenting or co-parenting, or are trying to better understand ourselves and our past. Whatever the reason, we also desire to be happy, whole, and loved - and especially to become something more than what we are. Trauma can hold us back at any age - creating negative habits and barriers to our growth and happiness.

You've spent most of your life being the one who holds things together. The one who notices when something is wrong before anyone says it out loud. The one who steps in, manages, and keeps the peace, not because anyone formally asked, but because it felt necessary. Because someone had to. From the outside, this probably looks like capability. Groundedness. Maybe even strength. But on the inside, it often feels like a weight you didn't choose and can't quite put down. If this sounds familiar, you may be carrying what's sometimes called eldest daughter syndrome, a pattern of over-responsibility and self-sacrifice that develops early.

Licensed in NE, NJ, WA. The problems couples bring to therapy are rarely what they seem. Underneath the argument about dishes, or money, or who said what, there's usually something older. A pattern each partner learned long before this relationship. A way of asking for closeness that the other person can't quite hear. A way of protecting yourself that the person you love experiences as distance. This is where I focus. Not on the surface conflict, but on what's driving it, the history each of you carries into the room, and the cycle you've both gotten stuck in without quite meaning to.
