Are you feeling overwhelmed by work, school, relationships, or simply the daily task of being a human? If you’re carrying more stress than feels manageable, or you’ve found yourself thinking, “Is this really how life is supposed to feel?” you’re not alone, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. Maybe you’re struggling to balance your responsibilities. Maybe relationships feel complicated. Maybe work is draining the life out of you one email at a time. Whatever it is, there’s space here for you to breathe, reflect, and grow.

Throughout my life, schooling, and work as a therapist, I’ve learned a lot about people and the importance of connection. I believe in the power relationships can have in the healing process, so I not only enjoy working with families, couples, and individuals to improve their relationships and individual functioning, but I also strive to be someone with whom my clients can have a strong connection. My belief is that such a client-therapist relationship gives space for vulnerability and promotes change.

Sometimes we encounter a point in life that feels overwhelming, or sometimes things are manageable but a lot to bear, and there comes a time when you need a professional to guide you through it. That's where I come in! I believe that clients are the experts of their life, meaning they take me on their journey, and I am simply there as a guide to help navigate what can be a windy path. Therapy is vulnerable, therefore I strive to create a safe environment by being my authentic self, meeting clients with kindness and grace and bringing in light humor, and I hope that you will feel comfortable to authentically be yourself, too.

I believe every person has capacity to grow, heal, and create meaningful change - sometimes they just need a safe space and the right tools to begin. My passion as a counselor is helping teens, young adults, and couples better understand themselves and build stronger emotional balance in daily life. Whether your navigating ADHD, anxiety, or overwhelming emotions, we'll work together to identify your strengths, and create realistic strategies that help you thrive - not just cope. I believe progress comes though compassion, honesty, and use of practical advice and skills that can empower you to take charge of your emotional world.

Taking the time to look for a therapist is the first step to prioritizing your own needs. It's such a value to remember that success is defined individually and not a straight line, often having many bumps in the road before meeting your goals. I enjoy empowering and collaborating with individuals to meet their goals, often times goals they've had on their mind for a long time. I'm glad you're here.

I have my LMHP. I work primarily with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, ADHD, TBI, chronic pain and medical issues, and anger management issues, among other related disorders and symptoms. I work with various populations, including young adults, older adults, teens, and preteens. I began working in Mental Health in Chicago in 1992 where I found my calling. I provide counseling and support to a variety of individuals. I believe clients want to be heard, to be validated that their experiences are real, their experiences are hard and painful. With support and a non judgmental environment , clients can learn ways in which to manage their symptoms, reduce them and recover.

Welcome to my practice! I specialize in treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and related disorders. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder involves experiencing distressing, intrusive thoughts. Intrusions are paired with repetitive behaviors. Themes include contamination, causing unintentional harm, perfectionism, religion, relationship, sexual orientation, and "bad thoughts" (violent, sexual, taboo). When addressing OCD, my preferred method of treatment involves Exposure Therapy with Response Prevention. Individuals with Hoarding Disorder experience significant distress when discarding possessions. Avoiding this distress results in an accumulation of items that intrude on one's living space. In treatment, it is important to address both acquisition and factors that interfere with discarding.

Therapy? In this economy? But the last few years have been rough and you're not even sure where to start. You're feeling exhausted, off track, or like you don't even recognize yourself anymore. You want to devote some time to yourself, to find yourself, and get back on course with your goals.

The focus of my practice is to help clients create a balanced life. When we are stressed, anxious or depressed, it is a sign that we are living our lives out of balance. I can help you to identify the areas that are out of balance and create a plan to address those areas and get back to a place of balance. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to make changes to improve their lives, find purpose, meaning and fulfillment. I published my book, How to Create Your Balanced Life in 2017 on this topic.
