Perhaps you have been feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or carrying stress and pain that feels hard to put into words. You might be navigating relationship challenges, family dynamics, grief, or the lingering impact of trauma. If life has started to feel heavier than it should, you are not alone, and you do not have to sort through it by yourself. In our work together, I focus on creating a safe, supportive space where you can slow down, breathe, and feel understood. I bring over 14 years of experience, with a strong background in trauma-informed care, CBT, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.

What in you is hungry for answers? What might your life look like if you were deeply well fed by your choices? People come to me with emotional hunger pangs. They're hungry for deep connection - to a partner, to a job, to their life! I see individuals & couples who are carrying persistent, unanswered questions that leave them feeling exhausted, disappointed, hopeless, and trapped. I partner with people in their search for clarity, purpose, and more meaningful connections. As a result of our work together, my clients report feeling better nourished by their choices, more balanced in relationships, and more in control of their lives.

“Live life to the fullest.” “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” “When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.” These are great, but life is more complex than cliché quotes. As your counselor, it is my pleasure to partner with you to find real joy in life again. True freedom does take work and can feel terrible as you work through the pain, but is it worth it? 100%! You are worthy of happiness, freedom, and wholeness, even if you don’t currently feel it.

The people I work with have dedicated a lot of energy toward being successful or filling challenging roles. Even when it's tied to a passion or love, being driven can come with a lot of stress. Over time, stress can leave people feeling like something is “off,” pressurized, or missing. When we experience big life changes or repeating patterns, the sense that something isn’t working can be heightened. We all have the innate ability to adapt, refocus, and reconnect to what's important. You can find new insights and start making changes, even if you're not sure what that looks like yet.

Sometimes we come to a season in which we realize that our current ways of dealing with past trauma, connecting with people, or balancing life stressors just aren't working anymore. I am passionate about creating a compassionate and safe setting where an individual can work through strong emotions and past trauma. There is always hope and healing that can be rewritten into the path you are currently on. I have specific training in Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International as well as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

I work with adults navigating current challenges by helping them understand how earlier experiences continue to shape their present-day lives and relationships. My training spans outpatient, inpatient, and psychiatric emergency settings, and my approach is humanistic and relational. Sessions are collaborative and exploratory rather than prescriptive. My aim is to support insight and self-understanding, creating a foundation from which more authentic, values-aligned choices can take shape.

I work best with adolescent and adult clients who appreciate a direct, to-the-point approach. I give lots of feedback and make my thoughts known. This approach tends to open up awarenesses that may have been unknown for a very long time. It is exciting to see this process unfold in individual psychotherapy.

Loss affects each of us in unique ways. Each of us encounters loss on a regular basis. How we each experience each loss is unique and viewed through our individualized lens based on our life experiences. I meet people where they are in their grief journey and provide a safe space to tell their story and be heard. Grief has no timeframe. Whether the loss was recent or long ago where there is pain there can be healing. My goal is to help people find meaningful ways to process the losses they have experienced. I also aim to help caregivers both lay and professional find ways to nurture themselves and find hope and renewal.

I work with clients struggling with a variety of issues, including Anxiety/Panic, ADHD, Depression, Grief, Life Transitions, Chronic Pain, Mood Disturbance, Self-Care, and many more. However, I am currently only accepting adults with ADHD or suspected ADHD as new clients. Therapy tends to work best when a client provides as much information as possible, is open and honest, and puts in the effort and work necessary to improve upon their life.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
