Therapy is where you can say the words that aren't allowed to be said. While I see clients who are struggling with a variety of issues (depression; anxiety; relationship difficulties; and questions of meaning, purpose, and self), I specialize in working with those who have experienced religious trauma - those who have been deeply hurt by the messages they received as part of their religious experience and have not felt the freedom to tell their story. Clergy and laity alike need space to express and reflect upon their hurt, their sadness, their anger, their disappointment, and their doubts.
Whether your hurt is relatively new or has been a lifetime in the making, therapy can help you in the attempt to make sense of the senseless. Your story matters, and it deserves to be told.
I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). In addition to my private practice, I also work with clients at the Betty and Bobby Allison Ozarks Counseling Center, a United Way agency dedicated to providing mental health services to the community regardless of one's ability to pay.
