Many of my clients seek support because they feel overwhelmed by life transitions, anxiety, grief, trauma, or other challenges. Some have been carrying difficult experiences for years without fully understanding their impact or having a safe space to process them. Others may be navigating pregnancy, postpartum changes, relationship challenges, or uncertainty about their next steps in life. Together, we work to process difficult experiences, better understand emotions, reduce shame, restore hope, reframe unhelpful thoughts, and move toward healing.

Hello! My name is Meg, and I would love to get to know you! Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating and my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, even on the messy, confusing, or “I don’t know what I’m doing with my life” days. I work with individuals who are ready to understand themselves better, break old patterns, and build healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating — without being judged or rushed. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, or past experiences that still show up uninvited, you don’t have to do it alone!

Challenges in life help us cultivate strength and build resiliency. Sometimes these challenges take us in directions that we never thought possible, promoting healing and happiness. It's these challenges that help us grow emotionally, strengthening and enabling us to handle the daily stressors that come our way. I want to personally thankyou for taking the first step to seek counseling as I know it can be hard. My Goal is to honor the space that you're in and walk with you on a journey to optimal wellness focusing on the whole person; Mind Body and Soul!

If you're in that in-between stage of life, done with the structure of childhood but still figuring out what comes next, you've found the right person. Whether you are a student carving out an identity or a woman in her 20's or 30's balancing career ambitions with the crossroads of marriage or motherhood, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

In my nearly 20 years as a counselor, it's been my privilege to care for men, teens, and couples wrestling with depression, stress, and anxiety; addiction (drugs and alcohol; gambling; sexual...); the grief involved with divorce; the struggles associated with life's transitions; difficulties in school and relationships; and family conflict. Pastor and Ministry Leader burnout and spiritual abuse have become areas of focus in the last 5 years of my practice. My hope is that the men and women I talk to would be able to experience intimacy in their relationships, fullness of life, and find success in their daily lives.

There it is again, that feeling you get when you overthink a text, replay a conversation on loop, or feel like you’re constantly falling short. Maybe you’re used to being the “strong friend” on the outside, but inside, the pressure to be perfect is wearing you down. I’ve been there too. Whether it’s anxiety, interpersonal relationships, or a harsh inner critic, you just want to feel more secure, connected, and like you’re actually enjoying life, not just surviving it.

Raising kids can feel like riding a roller coaster—and there’s no manual! As a therapist and mom, I understand how deeply a child’s behavior and mental health can impact the whole family. Behavior is a window into their feelings and needs. When it turns challenging, it’s a signal to connect and listen. You are the expert on your family, and your involvement is key to helping your child heal and thrive. You're not alone—we'll navigate this together.

I believe children have an innate ability to grow in a positive direction. The child-therapist relationship is the element that encourages healing, where the child feels safe, supported, and is able to make those changes that lead to growth through exploring self (experiences, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors). When we meet a child's need, rather than focus on the behavior, we begin to deal with the cause, not the symptom. I focus on possibilities, strengths, and value differences through direct and indirect practices.

You’re doing the best you can, but things feel heavy. Maybe your child is struggling and you’re not sure how to help. Maybe you’re a mom carrying the mental load and wondering why no one warned you it would feel like this. Or maybe you and your partner keep missing each other, and you’re not sure how to reconnect. You want support, but also space—to feel seen, not judged. You want tools that actually work in real life. Most of all, you want to feel more like yourself again, and more connected to the people you care about most.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in 63385?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
