Do you find yourself asking why life turned out the way it did? Sometimes we all need someone to listen to us as we attempt to make sense of the world. I can help address perfectionism, disappointment in our life's path, and dealing with day to day struggles of chronic illness and even self-harming behavior.

I am here to support you, provide you with trauma informed care, and utilize evidence based interventions to meet your therapy goals. Typically, we wear many hats and life “tries” to deter us from making time for self-care. However, YOU are important so, give yourself permission to put YOU at the top of your to-do list. Self-care is not selfish, it is essential….YOU are essential. My goal is to support my clients holistically…..mentally, spiritually, socially, and physically. My clients are actively involved in their treatment plan that is tailored to their unique selves. I see clients for individual, couples, and family therapy. I support my clients with concerns around depression, anxiety, stress, and health management.

Would you like to learn how to surf through life's challenges rather than be pummeled by them? Hi, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Missouri, with a second License in Illinois. I have a BS in Psychology and received my MSW from the University of St Louis I have been practicing with an LCSW since 1993. I have helped people of all ages struggling with emotional regulation, problem solving, stress, life transitions, anger management, parenting, and burnout to become the best versions of themselves. Together, we would focus on what is helpful and let go of judging what is right or wrong.

If you are exploring the option of therapy, you may have already made attempts to improve your situation on your own. You may feel depressed, anxious or lack assertiveness. Though you desire to make a change, you may be skeptical about the idea of counseling. You may also feel that finding a therapist who listens without judgment and who balances honest feedback with empathy, is a confusing and difficult task. If this describes your situation, I hope that I might have the opportunity to speak with you about a practical strategy to bring about the change you desire.

I support individuals, couples, and youth struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship issues. This fast paced life can be overwhelming. Jobs are stressful and demanding. Sometimes finding that additional reserve of calm needed for managing our intimate relationships and child rearing can be challenging. As a wife, mother, and design professional of over 15 years, I understand the stress of managing interpersonal conflicts with a difficult boss or co-workers, unmanageable workloads, and the ongoing demands of an ever-changing, competitive work environment. I also know how hard it is to balance work and home life.

Life is tough, and so are you! You look strong and capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or on edge on the inside. The relationships you care most about seem to be struggling. Old patterns are playing out, even if you're trying to do things differently. You're ready for something to shift, to feel more present in your life. As your therapist, I will create a safe space for you to unload everything that is piling up on the inside, explore dynamics keeping you stuck, and offer you a new perspective to consider. We'll explore what you need to move forward.

As a psychologist, my approach is based on the simple premise that change and growth through psychotherapy depends upon a trusting relationship between client and psychotherapist. As that trust deepens, so does one's ability to articulate what has not yet been been articulated, to make connections that have not yet been made, and to be aware of greater subtleties in one's internal emotional states. This newly felt understanding, in an emotionally sensitive and supportive context is what leads to change. In this way, change may be seen to occur as an outcome of emotional growth, rather than primarily effortful behavior.

Some days are messy. Some days are confusing, heavy, or even a little scary. Those are the days people often feel like they have to handle it alone. My hope is to create a space where that isn’t true. Therapy should be a space where you can bring your full self, including the uncomfortable or messy parts, and feel understood and supported. I work collaboratively, meeting each person where they are. For kids, therapy can include play and creativity, even online. For teen and adult clients, we focus on exploring challenges/barriers, building skills, and finding new ways forward, all in a warm, nonjudgmental environment.

You are tired of fighting, having to explain yourself, being disappointed, and grieving the life you planned as a child. Parenting is one of the HARDEST and most fulfilling experiences that one can have in this lifetime, but it can sometimes feel like a constant battle. If you toss in co-parenting with an ex-partner, trying to integrate a new partner into your "ready-made" family, and/or being a caregiver to a family member due to unfavorable circumstances, things get a lot more complicated. Being the child in these situations, can be even harder to navigate because everything can feel so unstable. All of it feels exhausting!
