Whether you need to vent about your dissatisfying job, or help and guidance with your sexual liberation, there is space for you. My approach balances genuine compassion and understanding with direct feedback that gets right to the heart of the matter. There is no judgement with me, and you can feel safe to talk about anything. I work with couples and individuals that are feeling "lost" or "stuck," clients pre/post-abortion, LGBTQIA+ identifying, and clients in non-traditional relationships.

Living with internal chaos is exhausting and lonely. Constantly feeling overwhelmed and afraid takes away from living well. Maybe you relate to this. Maybe you know what it’s like to feel like your life isn’t yours, to feel controlled by anxiety. Maybe parts of you feel stuck and alone. You want to feel safe and loved, but something is in the way. Or something is missing. Or maybe you don’t know what’s going on, but you know it hurts. It is possible to feel better. You can create a life you want to live.

The world becomes a better place when we humans learn we are amazing; just for being human. Some, especially Black and Brown humans, suffer from living in cultures and systems that dehumanize them, keeping them from this realization. Therapy is one tool we can use to heal these wounds and create better communities. I believe that Black and Brown people need and deserve representation and validation of their experiences. I believe that everyone is the expert of their own story, the captain of their own ship.

My ideal client is a person who is ready and willing to do their work. They understand that challenges may arise, and the process may be uncomfortable. They are willing to help build a therapeutic relationship, embrace the process to create meaningful progress. This client may have issues relating to self-esteem, trauma, and coping skills. This client needs a non-judgmental space to share and receive understanding and empathy. The goal is to improve self-esteem, process, and heal from the trauma, and apply healthy coping skills.

My work at Terrace House is focused on partnering with adolescents, adults, and families as they seek to create change in their lives. It’s difficult to find words to express the possibility and potential that can be found in therapy. So much is possible. It won’t always be easy, but it will be your unique journey. A journey towards a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your world. Through the practice of vulnerability and authentic reflection, we’ll weave our way down the path of growth and transformation.

We might be a good match if you're suspecting that past experiences are affecting you, if you are seeking a deeper connection with yourself and others, or you’ve tried other types of therapy but haven’t experienced lasting healing. I believe the body naturally wants to move towards healing and use this approach through my work with trauma, anxiety, and stress. I am passionate about equipping people to work through past, present, and future challenges and strive to be a peaceful and supportive presence in the process. I believe therapy is a place for laughter, tears, connection, and healing.

Greetings! Welcome and thank you for considering me as your therapist. It is said that the reason two antelope walk side by side is to blow the dust from each other's eyes (African proverb). In today's world, it seems harder than ever to find clarity in the midst of chaos. Living with unaddressed chaos and unresolved pain can leave us feeling stuck and disconnected from those who love us and who may be able to help us. Sometimes, due to life circumstances, we struggle to find our way back to ourselves, our family and our God.

In one of his most famous poems, Walt Whitman says, “I contain multitudes.” And I think we all do–we contain many selves that have been born out of our life experiences, from joyful moments to painful ones. Some parts of our selves we really love and cherish; others, we may fear or distrust. By spending time with our parts, approaching them with curiosity and compassion, we can learn to accept, love, and learn from all of our parts, who, together, make us who we are. In this process, we also learn how to advocate for ourselves, how to heal from trauma, and how to love others.

I value the counseling setting as a place to discuss all thoughts and feelings freely and without fear of judgment so that new associations can be made, and emotional isolation can be replaced with connection. When we understand and accept ourselves, growth and healing can occur! I create a safe space where individuals can first understand how their personal experiences have impacted their lives and then collaborate with clients in order to establish authentic insights that will shape their stories moving forward.

You may be struggling to keep up with life’s lows without experiencing little to none of life’s highs. While we all experience life differently, our mental health and wellness plays an important part to overcoming barriers and living a life worthwhile. I suggest when a person learns more about themselves and what they truly want and need out of life, it enhances their overall wellness and their ability to navigate and thrive in life. As your therapist, I will assist you to define your wants & needs based on your values, learn more about yourself, & ways to accomplish your goals by living intentionally.

My work is focused on creating a safe, warm, and inviting space for individuals and couples to receive therapy. Many of the couples I work with experience poor communication, lack of trust, and resistance to change. I believe those who are open to change and self-awareness are those who will benefit the most. I also enjoy working with individuals. You may be struggling with interpersonal issues. You may feel unsure of your identity and of the things you want in life. For both couples and individuals, my job is to walk with you on the path toward happiness and contentedness.

Throughout our lives, many of us have been urged to mute ourselves, to make sure we don’t inconvenience or disrupt anyone with our needs. We learn to suppress the things about us that challenge others, slowly eroding our connection to ourselves. There are so many ways it happens: unsafe relationships, social expectations, systemic oppression, grief, life transitions, and plenty more. I’ll help you tap into your inner creative resources as you learn to navigate your past, present, and future with authenticity and self-compassion.

Living in a broken world naturally means we may often feel broken ourselves, detached from who we genuinely are, who we once were, and who we long to be. It is easy to lose connection with our true selves as we attempt to navigate our external relationships, past traumas, societal expectations, and the daily demands of this world. This disconnection can disrupt our sense of equilibrium and wholeness and can bring on feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, and a general dissatisfaction with life.

We can be really hard on ourselves. There's a tendency for that voice in our head to focus only on negative aspects of life, and ignore the positive ones. Over time, this can become a habit, and we no longer even know we are doing it. This fixation on the negative can come from many places: work, family, relationships, friends, stress, anxiety, our past, the news, the list goes on… I am deeply familiar with this voice. Even though I struggled with it for many years, I delayed going to therapy; it felt like too much to add to my busy schedule, my issues didn't feel "worthy" of therapy, and I was resistant to the stigma of therapy.

I believe each of us deserves support on this winding and unpredictable journey of life. How we take care of our mental health impacts every aspect of our lives--our relationships, our work, our creative output, and more. At the same time, it can take a lot of courage to take a step forward to do this work. Maybe you’re ready to face past experiences of trauma or loss. Maybe you want to redefine your relationship with yourself--body, mind, spirit. Or maybe you see a pattern in the way you show up in relationships with others and you want to make a change.
