I prefer working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety and/or life difficulties. Listening is a strength of mine and it is important to me to give my clients something they can take home between sessions whether that is a new coping skill, strategy or perspective. I work hard to help people out of their dark place and have received great feedback from adults and children of varying ages.

I am passionate about working with women that struggle with symptoms of anxiety and depression. Navigating motherhood, work and balancing all that life throws our way can be challenging. I provide a safe space for individuals to be their authentic self, teach methods of coping with emotions and support setting healthy boundaries to increase overall self-confidence. I also enjoy working with adolescents/teens and young adults that struggle with impulsivity, identifying and managing emotions, and learning ways of coping with challenges that they may face in school, at home or in the community.

Do thoughts like "I can't shake my past", "I don't think this pain will ever go away", or "I'm stuck" preoccupy your mind? Often, when something traumatic happens, it can get trapped in your brain with the original picture, sounds, thoughts, and feelings. Since the experience is stuck there, it continues to be triggered whenever a reminder comes up. It can be the basis of a lot of discomfort and negative emotions. We can process those memories so they are no longer disturbing using an evidence based treatment called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.

What do you want? While that may seem selfish, it is not self-centered. You wouldn't be looking at this website if you didn't want something different than what you have now. It starts with eliminating the obstacles to getting your needs met, then learning strategies that are more effective. As a Christian psychologist, I use biblical principles and truths that help individuals and couples get what they want. I make use of Cognitive-behavior therapy, as well as other evidence-based interventions. I have trained extensively in the methods of John Gottman. I am also a certified Spiritual Director. Let me help you get what you want.

Are you considering therapy to help you cope with stress, negative emotions or maybe to strengthen self-esteem? If so, my practice may be a good choice for you. My practice focuses on work with adults who seek counseling for personal growth to feel emotionally stronger and more content, or for those who are trying to work through negative feelings connected with relationship concerns, grief and loss, life transitions, depression, self-esteem, or anxiety. I view issues through a cultural lens, being mindful of the influences of society on people's lives.

Arguing about the same thing… AGAIN. The disagreements and anger seem to materialize out of thin air. It’s like there’s buried pain that stews and festers, and bickering is the only way to let it out. Your relationship has been off course lately, and you’ve felt the resentment building as your wants and needs go unmet. There’s a part of you hoping your issues just go away, but a bigger part of you knows better. You know you have to get to the root of what’s ailing your relationship, but you’ll never solve the problem with this endless cycle of fighting and apologizing. It’s time to do something different.
