Do you ever reply with “I’m fine” or “Can’t complain” when, deep down, you’re anything but fine as you're going through some shit? Whatever you are going through - relationship struggles, depression, anxiety, or feeling stuck in your friendships, motivation, or overall happiness. It’s overwhelming, and it can feel like you’re silently drowning, wishing someone would notice you're not okay. You're juggling family, work, friends, hobbies, and trying to stay healthy (whatever that means)—but instead of feeling fulfilled, life’s starting to feel like a constant drain.

I am grateful you are taking this first step in your healing journey. I get this shit isn't easy! Do you ever notice when one part of you feels 'off', all of you feels off? This why I take an approach that looks at the whole person and all parts of life. How would it feel to believe in yourself? Feel less drained? It IS possible (read that again), and I am here to support you through this (messy) healing journey!

My top priority is to help clients feel seen, heard, and understood and offers grace for being human. My warm and empathetic approach helps clients connect with themselves on a deeper level so they can learn to navigate and cope with life's challenges on their own. I use a psychodynamic approach to help clients challenge inner beliefs about shame and self-worth by exploring how early experiences shape current behaviors. I am committed to helping my clients develop a stronger sense of self and live their life with intentionality.

We all experience events, moments, and feelings that are too much to bear alone, and we all should have a safe, judgement-free space where we can regain focus and strength. One should have the means to vent about daily struggles, regain confidence through skill building, strengthen relationships through positive communication, process painful events, or regain a sense of direction in life. I seek to provide a space where any or all of the above could be accomplished at your own pace. I strive to ensure that your effort is respected and valued by being honest, empathetic, and straightforward.

I am a counselor who believes in self determination and choices and therefore I believe in assisting individuals, couples, adolescents, and families (of all ages, races, genders, religions) to strengthen their disposition and resolve. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) as a technique to help individuals with PTSD and anxiety. I am an Illinois Supreme Court approved Divorce Mediator which provides me the opportunity to assist couples who are divorcing. Divorcing couples deserve to have a choice in divorcing with dignity while also not spending their children's college fund.

Sometimes it feels like your anxiety is a background noise that just won't fade. You're doing your best to keep it together, maybe juggling a career or studies, but inside you feel exhausted and on edge. You might be navigating a big life transition, recovering from past trauma, or just trying to keep your houseplants alive while you feel like you're wilting. You want to feel capable. You want to stop just surviving the daily grind and actually start enjoying your life again. You're ready for a change, even if you aren't quite sure where to start.

"Today is the day to reach out and tomorrow is the day to feel better." If you're anything like me, then you know that half the battle is reaching out to "[Fill In The Blank]" in order for you to start feeling better about whatever the situation might be. You might fill in the blank with the Dentist, a friend with whom you had a falling out, a family member you forgot to say happy birthday to, etc. I'm the same way in so many situations but once I've made that appointment, talked to the friend, made it to the gym, etc... I feel so much better! I hope that today's the day you say... "I'm reaching out to better my self... for me!"
