We all naturally strive towards happiness, growth, and development. Sometimes, however, there are obstacles along the way: depression, anxiety, loss, financial strain, illness, relationship turmoil, addiction, or the impacts of prejudice and inequality. I will partner with you, get to know and understand who you are, where you come from. Together, we will explore solutions to get you back on track, to help you overcome suffering, to help you live more fully, more intentionally, and more effectively.

I believe in a client-centered approach, tailoring therapy to meet your unique needs. Together, we'll explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to foster self-awareness and develop coping strategies. My therapeutic methods draw from evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. Each person is unique and their therapeutic needs may vary. As a therapist, I adapt my approach to suit their developmental stage, personality, and individual circumstances, providing them with the support they need to navigate life's challenges and promote their emotional well-being.

It takes a lot of courage and vulnerability to enter therapy, especially with the specific intention of facing whatever led you to seeking services. Therapy is about getting to know yourself better, developing strategies for creating and maintaining life balance, integrating values into your lifestyle, and acquiring new skills that help you feel confident facing everyday experiences. If this is your first time entering therapy or you are returning for a new experience, I'd love to serve as a tool on your journey toward improvement.

There are many pathways to a happier and more fulfilling life. Deciding to change, taking the risk to meet a new therapist, isn't easy. In 50 plus years as a psychotherapist, I have found that with work and skilled support, clients can reach goals, change, improve and develop their solutions to their issues. Although you may feel blocked, our work together will help you find the path to a happier life that is right for you. The most difficult decision is to take the risk and try therapy.

I consider myself trauma-informed specializing in narcissistic abuse and the impact of trauma on mental health. Trauma also includes issues that people experience around small and large aggressions due to their sexual orientation, gender and racial identity. In addition, to issues related to trauma, I also have experience working with individuals who have been diagnosed with ADHD as adults. Often undiagnosed ADHD leads to multiple issues around depression and anxiety due to not having language and systems in place that support you to function at your best

For more than forty years I have worked as a therapist addressing a broad array of concerns. Forming a solid working relationship is the foundation of all therapeutic change. No matter where someone is in the life cycle, the search for meaning and purpose always remains an essential endeavor. Learning how to take care of ourselves is the task of a lifetime. A shared exploration of the past opens the way to a deeper understanding of the present and inspires hope for shaping the future. My intent is to identify barriers to change, work towards their removal, and engender personal advancement.

I understand that therapy can be scary. It’s not easy opening up to a stranger, but I want you to know I will meet you where you are. I believe in treating my clients with softness and aim to build trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship through empathy and patience. In our capitalist society, it is easy for us to go on autopilot and simply work, work, work. That is completely valid since we need to work to survive. However, slowing down and being mindful of our breath, what we feel in our bodies, and simply listening to our heartbeats reconnects us to not only ourselves, but the Earth.

Our practice serves clients 18 and older. I am passionate about working with adults of all backgrounds and identities who are coping with symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, difficulty adjusting to life's transitions, or navigating complex relationships with family members and others. I have a certificate in gerontology and enjoy working with older adults as much as working with younger and middle-aged clients. I believe individuals are the experts on our own lives . . . and that each of us can, at times, use a fresh perspective to help reexamine, and sometimes challenge, our old assumptions.

I assist adults, adolescents, families and couples to reach emotional, mental health, relationship and achievement goals. The process is a collaboration between client and therapist. At the first meeting we explore the nature and history of issues and previous attempts to address them. We work together to understand the reasons for difficulties. We then develop an approach for change that includes plans for follow-through. The aim is a better quality of life.
