Therapy begins as a conversation and progresses into a relationship that serves as a base to explore present and past difficulties. My initial focus on description and detail of the presenting problem aids others in understanding their experience further, and often this increased understanding serves to lessen pain and hurt.

I conceptualize therapy as a mutually created, deeply personal experience. No two therapies will ever be exactly alike given that we are all unique individuals shaped by the stories, desires, and expectations of ourselves and others. I start from a place of deep humility and honor, knowing that coming to therapy means turning to a professionalized stranger for help with what may be extremely difficult sufferings. In the beginning there may not be words for what is wrong, where it hurts, why things are the way they are. This is where we start. Together. Courageously.

Past experiences continue to impact us throughout life in ways that we do not always fully understand. Family relationships, environmental stressors, social norms and cultural expectations can also place enormous weight on our shoulders to carry around. As my clients work through grief, sadness, and anger, I am deeply committed to their process. I welcome clients from various backgrounds, and, in addition, I have an ongoing commitment to working with first and second generation immigrants and their families.

Welcome and congratulations on taking the first steps to care for your mental health.
This isn’t a sign of weakness—it shows strength. My job is to help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals, and to remind you that hope is always there, even when it seems out of reach. I pull from the Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavior (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) modalities. I like to challenge you to think in new ways and often bring activities into our sessions to help you do that. I’ve received training in Couples Counseling and I’m excited to offer affordable help to couples who need it.
